Alright, we're going to have an interesting battle between these Direct-to-Videos!

READ THIS CAREFULLY! For those of you who HAVE SEEN The Three Musketeers earlier, which comes out on August 17, you can vote on this poll. Anyone who HASN'T SEEN IT YET, don't vote on this poll, until you HAVE seen it. Remember, this poll is for the people who HAVE seen The Three Musketeers. That is all!

The Three Musketeers is Mickey Mouse's first animated film (and the last for the 2-D animation). Our heros, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, dream of becoming Musketeers. Princess Minnie wanted body guards, so the villan, Captain Pete, hires our three heros to become Musketeers. However, when Princess Minnie gets kidnapped, courtesy of Captain Pete's bodyguards, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy must save her, but they will have to do it by the power of friendship. This is headed to be the best DTV movie we've ever seen, but will it be enough?

The Lion King 1 1/2 is where we got to hear the story of the original Lion King, but what about Timon and Pumba's story? Well, in this movie, they show us a story on how they met, and shows us where they were doing all this time during the exciting parts of the original Lion King (including the final battle of Simba vs. Scar). This turned out to be the surprising DTV sequals we've seen.


Okay, I'll post my vote later, since I haven't seen The Three Musketeers yet. Again, this poll is for the people who HAVE SEEN The Three Musketeers and Lion King 1 1/2. If you haven't seen The Three Musketeers yet, do not vote on this poll, until you finally get a chance to see it. Thank you, and start voting!

I enjoyed both, but I preferred The Lion King 1½. It was more clever and funnier. I really didn't have high expectations for a film twisting around and poking fun at a movie I love so much, but it was all in good fun, and it's the best Disney DTV that I've seen. The Three Musketeers is also one of the better ones, and it also provides laughs and a fairly compelling story, but it just doesn't work quite as well.

Muskateer - unfortunately you see your warning message after the poll, so I guess I broke the rules by voting conceptually for the Three Musketeers.

My vote went for the Three Musketeers. I have had the oppertunity to see both films. Dont get me wrong I think the Lion King 1 1/2 was a great film and as Luke said a clever film. But for me there is something about having Mickey and the Gang in a full legnth film. I hope that in the future they plan on making another .

I thought the Lion King One and a Half, overall, was a great idea! It was weaved into the original story line perfectly...how many times have we seen sequels that don't hold true to the original? (I mean, how many of you have seen the Poison Ivy Movies!?)
As Randy Meeks says in Scream 2, "Sequels suck!". I generally agree with him, with of course his few exceptions, and a few of my own, and The Lion King One and a Half is one of those exceptions. However, the general idea of the Three Musketeers is a rather nostalgic topic for me, and I prefer a Mickey cartoon anyday to the Animated Classic Films.

I figured that we were getting close to its release date, and some people already have early copies of the Three Musketeers.

Okay, The Three Musketeers has just been released. I'm sure everyone has seen it (I haven't, but I was going to rent it, but it was sold out, which was a REAL SHOCKER)!

I'm just copy-and-pasting the response i put in DIsneygirl's GD Thread:

I really enjoyed Three Musketeers. The slick humour was drizzled all throughout the film. References like Disneygirl has previously mentioned had me laughing.

The direction from Cook was wonderful. Animation wasn't perhaps "Feature" quality, but was much better than average DTV quality. Not sure if any CGI was encorporated, but I didn't see it sticking out like with the train or cows in HOTR or even the dishes in BATB; in comparison look at the pull-away shot with all the Musketeers dancing, or check out the train tracks part. I just really love how everything was hand-animated; as far as I could see. Colors were nice and vibrant, but there was also at times a gloomy kind of haze tone it down when appropriate.

I loved how at times, Mickey and Donald wore their "regular" clothes. Nice to see Clarabelle back in the gang, and I liked those Beagle Boys. I didn't think that the voice actresses for Clarabelle and Daisy fit the characters; they both seemed too... masculine; not the right word but it just didnt seem right. Now, if only Horace came back for a cameo in this movie....

I didn't think it was rushed or too slow; it seemed perfect to me. Time just seemed to fly by. The thing I particularily loved was seeing the whole Mickey gang back on screen after all these years. I liked this more than TLK 1.5 prolly for that reason only. They both are great films with above-average animation quality and same type of humour. Considering this was a DTV; I'd have to give it a 3.5/4; I thoroughly loved it! Proud to have it in my collection.

I loved both of these, but I have to go with The Three Musketeers, simply because while TLK1.5 was just a comedy, TTM has its own story and is still funny at the same time.

Since Jeanylaser has revived a 2-year old topic, I'll say it. The only DTV I liked more was "The Lion King 1 1/2". That movie was twice more fun than the original and more Timon and Pumbaa-ness. It definately follows the film perfectly to the original. Since Timon and Pumbaa were one of my favorite Disney characters, I loved this one more than the original.

Definitely Lion King 1 1/2. Three Musketeers left a horrible taste in my mouth. *blech* For Mickey's only full-length movie, it was terrible.
