That is a pretty cool deal...

Unless you want to collect every possible version of a DVD, then you wouldn't want to trade.

Or there is the slim possibility that the DVD is "retouched", and the original DVD is "untouched" (like the child who was with Tigger). Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Is this offer from Disney or from a certain retailer, I wish that we had that option here in the United States as well when they do the upgraded DVD's.

The R3 Singapore version is now available here!! Just saw it last night at a local DVD shop.... The cover insert is shiny, similar to the R1 re-issued bug's life...

But does anyone know whether the R3 version has any additional extras not included on the R1? (I'm thinking maybe the jackie chan and coco lee videos) Or vice-versa?

Mulan 2-disc is already available in Singapore? That's what I call and early release, hehe.
As soon as you have the chance to watch it, we would love to hear any comments from you. ;)

yup, just a few days before the HK version :)

normally, i'll go for R1 releases rather than buying the local R3 versions. The R1 versions normally have much better packaging compared to the local versions. Our disney DVDs normally do not come with any booklet/insert, and our casing is also of a lower quality compared to the amaray R1 casings. For those 2-disc videos, they come in a single-DVD case, with one disc stacked on top of the other

I'll only get R3 versions if the R1 is OOP, or they have additional extras, or on the rare occasions, come in special packaging. Our snow white and monsters INC came in cardboard digipak, and i got those...

Great info, gau dog!

I will post a review of the Mulan SE DVD on the forum as soon as I get it! It would be better if people who get their copies earlier than the US post their reviews too, so we can share our thoughts! :)

Intercontinental Video Ltd. is not a certain retailer, it is Disney's (including Touchstone, Hollywood, Miramax etc.) movie distributor in Hong Kong and Macau since around the early 1990s.

Synopsis
Based on an ancient Chinese poem, the legend of Mulan beautifully unfolds in Disney's 36th animated classic. Full of daring action, hilarious characters and inspiring music, the new 2 Disc Special Edition celebrates honor, courage, and a young girl's quest to be true to her own heart.

Beautiful and clever Mulan proves her worth outside of her tradition-bound society when, disguised as "Ping", she bravely takes her father's place in the Imperial Army. Helped by her outrageously funny guardian dragon Mushu and a lucky cricket named Cri-Kee, Mulan strives to earn the respect of her fellow warriors and their handsome Captain Shang. A climactic battle atop the Imperial Palace is where her family's honor and the fate of the Emperor and all of China rest in her hands!

Mulan is a one-of-a-kind film about a one-of-a-kind heroine. As the emperor says, "You don't find a girl like that in every dynasty!" Your whole family will enjoy experiencing Mulan's legendary journey!
