Aladdin Platinum Edition DVD Audio Tracks

Reading the technical specifications of amazon.com it says that this dvd will get:

Available Audio Tracks: English (Dolby Digital 5.1), English (Dolby Digital 5.1), French, Spanish
Available subtitles: English, Spanish, French

I guess it's a typo because they listed English 5.1 twice, I think it's one DTS and one 5.1

Anyway, I'd like to know if any of you (with some of your disney insider's info) could confirm that this disc will get an Spanish track.

This is because at this point most disney releases have the spanish track includen EXCEPT the platinum editions. But Special Editions like Sleeping Beuaty, Alice, and the upcoming Mulan do have at least a DD2.0 track.

So, is amazon.com correct? will the oct 5th Aladdin Region 1 Platinum Edition DVD get an Spanish track?

please let me know, thanks

no it's the Disney Enhanced home theater mix which is DD 5.1 but is mixed for a home theater.

Yep, MMB is right. The Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix is some of the best sound out there. I don't think Aladdin's audio will utitlize it quite as well as The Lion King's, but it's still sure to be impressive.

thanks I guess I wrote my post in a non-easy-to-get way.

I KNOW that the DVD will include Enclish DTS and English DD5.1 (both) plues a French DD5.1 track.

My question is if the SPANISH AUDIO TRACK (no matter if it is 5.1 or 2.0) will be included.

???

According to Disney's information, the DVD will include both French and Spanish tracks.

The DVD will NOT contain a DTS track. As MMB stated and awallace backed up, there will be two different Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks in English, one remixed for Home Theater.

So I guess we're looking at six audio tracks altogether: 2 English, 2 commentaries, Spanish, and French.

Geez, I hope the video quality isn't affected by that considering you've got the 6 tracks, the pop up fact track (which shouldn't take up much space unless it's done like Spider-Man's not like Pooh's), the deleted scenes, and music video stuff. I know the movie isn't that long, but I'm still kinda worried.

WOW!!! This is a GOOD surprise for me. I always like when they include the spanish track ... that way I don't necessarily have to buy the Mexico region 1/4 Disc which sometimes leaves things out.

I recall that they Amazon NOT have the spanish track initially listed .... so it may have changed from the original.

Ric-Mx, I have to believe we are in luck in this case. :pink:
All my calls and e-mails complaining to Disney for this specific reason (Platinum languages) might finally have had an effect (or so it seems) :D

Come on October ...

Question ..... does this mean you guys in Mexico have a R1 player or region-free player ? The reason I ask is that I am in the hunt for a region-free and wanted to know which ones you guys have used.

it's because Disney doesnt lock R4 DVDs so they still play in R1 players.

MMB .... I am referring to R1 dvds. Are the NOT locked for R1 only ? Seeing as they are from Mexico and wanting to purchase the R1, in an R4 zone.

I understand that R4 DVDs are usually good for R1 also, since they are usually released at a later date. I am asking about the REVERSE situation here.

The Home Theater Enhanced Mix on Lion King was really good, and it's nice to see they've included one on Aladdin as well.

But would like for Disney to include the original sound mix on their DVD's. The worst is on the old Live-Action movies, where sometimes only a 5.1 tracks is included. It isn't particulary good either, so they might as well included the mono track.

For the most part, I prefer the surround mix on DVD's (if there is one), but I still like for the original sound mix to be included,

Here in Mexico, Buenavista/Disney and warner DVDs are region 1/4 (fox´s and columbia´s are not).... You can inicially choose the language for the menues and stuff, before the sneak peeks.

I think it´s kinda weird that Aladdin will include spanish (if amazon is correct), cause platinum dvds never include it; so I really don´t think this one will.

Ahhh ... I did not realize the DVD players are region free. Thanks for letting me know.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that they keep the spanish track in there ... it would definitely be a first for Platinum releases.

The German DVD will get the Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix in DTS, so maybe the Dutch version will also be in DTS, like The Liong King (which wasn't in DTS on R1).

I saw the Brother Bear DVD in the Netherlands will get a DTS track... I think Aladdin will get it too!
