Best Disney DVD Ever Round One: Animated Classics

I thought it'd be fun if we had a best Disney DVD type of competition in the midst of all these other competitions, being as we're a Disney DVD site. ;) Unlike the other polls going on, this one is far more straight-forward in that each round will have an actual poll where you vote for your favorite. Each poll will be open for 3 days and will be separated as follows: animated classics, live action, Pixar, and other (other will include titles like Dinosaur, SchoolHouse Rock, The Lion King 1.5 and more). With all that said, let's begin! Remember, vote for your favorite!

My pick goes to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Platinum Edition. It has everything you could want in a DVD and with high quality at that. Here's hoping Cinderella gets similar treatment October 2005.

Note: I'm only doing multi-disc sets since even though Disney's put out quite a few good single discs releases like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Treasure Planet, it's inevitable that none of them will stand a chance in this competition. If this game proves successful, I may start a separate game for single disc releases in the same vein as this one.

My vote goes to the Sleeping Beauty: Special Edition, it has tons of behind the scenes stuff. Plus, I love the audio commentary! Beauty and the Beast comes in second, I love that audio commentary too!

Brother Bear: Special Edition since even though it is a 2-disc, they had some good bonus features like the Moose Commentary and I believe it was the first time that an actual Disney-made animated film had outtakes.

Neat idea! I'll have to think it over. My hearts want me to vote Lion King, but I know that DVD is lacking in a number of ways. Probably Snow White.

P.S. I edited your post for you. Wise decision not to edit the poll thread!

Ahh! What happened to Brother Bear? It was in the poll earlier...Ah, well, I'm sure no one here thinks it's the best DVD of the bunch but if so, just mention it here and I'll keep track.

I've put it in. You might have forgotten to hit "Add option" after typing it, but that's what you have to do when making polls. Lots of people forget to do it. It really should do it automatically when you submit the post, but it doesn't.

I don't have a few of these, and it's a close call among the others. The only ones I can definitely rule out at this point are ENG-CE and TLK-PE. I'll have to think over the others. Good idea, Kelvin.

I think Snow White is very much complete, as is the Fantasia Anthology (As in docs, art, etc.). There could've been more in almost all the other 2-discers though. Alice is pretty good, though missing some stuff to get my vote. I had to go with Atlantis: CE as it is the most complete, IMO. EDIT: SB was pretty good as well.

Out of the ones I have on dvd...Fantasia Anthology. That thing is PACKED. I wish TLK was better, they could have made the dvd filled with more extras.

I went with The Fantasia Anthology. Two commentaries for each film, those very cool 50-minute documentaries, and enlightening special features for each segment. Snow White has a great DVD, too, but having everything for Fantasia together in a box is special, even if the film isn't 'unedited.'

Round one is officially over and the winner is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Platinum Edition! Now it's on to Round Two: Live Action!
