Re: Cinderella Discussion
The whole sequence was released as a bonus feature. The animation is surprisingly decent for a parody. I wonder who worked on it.Disney Duster wrote:Hey, if I'm not allowed to post this, remove it, but did anyone see this from Borat's sequel?:

Thank you. And I agree, that is one beautiful parody, and also a funny, sick parody, lol.

Re: Cinderella Discussion
With DVR, I can just auto-record anything that might include a certain actor's name. I did that with a couple of Disney names, including Audley, and ended up watching a couple of episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies where she played a headmistress who at one point pretended she was attracted to the grandfather. From the '60s, after both of her animated roles. It's so interesting to see a lot of these classic voice actors in live roles--I'm really talking about before the days John Lasseter came aboard and they picked bland celebs for every single role (not that all celebs are bad voice actors necessarily)--in live-action. You'd almost expect the voice actors had to put on with their voice more for animated roles, but her voice has that kind of power all the time apparently, without even trying. She had such a regal, dignified voice. I can see how what she really looked like influenced Lady Tremaine's design (less so with Maleficent).

Re: Cinderella Discussion
Something I didn't realize till now is Cinderella takes out her anger and frustration over her stepfamily on Lucifer. She does to him what she wishes she could do to them. She talks to him and makes him do things like she wishes she could them. She even threatens to beat him! She's fighting her stepfamily vicariously through him!

Re: Cinderella Discussion
That's a good observation, DD! The mice are abused by Lucifer, Cinderella is abused by the family. She can't do much in her situation, but she sure can try to keep her friends safe and teach Lucifer a lesson. So Bruno is the mice's Prince Charming, ultimately?!

Yes, Bruno and Cinderella are kind of both the Prince and Fairy Godmother to the mice! I have also always liked that Cinderella saves the mice. She is a hero.

Re: Cinderella Discussion
I agree 100% that Cinderella is a hero, too. And so is Bruno. (He really is an underappreciated character, I think, but that could be my love of hound dogs talking.)

Re: Cinderella Discussion
You know what? I`ve come to realize this lately, too. Lucifer is the only one in her stepfamily that she actually stands up to. It`s just a pity that she doesn`t do it to the rest of her stepfamily.Disney Duster wrote:Something I didn't realize till now is Cinderella takes out her anger and frustration over her stepfamily on Lucifer. Yes, it is unfortunate she doesn't stand up to her stepfamily, but the idea is that if she did, she would get kicked out, and she may not have been able to find a job without references. Also, at least she stands up for her right to go to the ball.

Re: Cinderella Discussion
I thought you might be interested to see this, Duster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-QBiotX4xE
It's the first time a LGBT contestant has been allowed to dance with a same-sex partner on Dancing With the Stars, and they performed to Cinderella's "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes." I've been DVRing the show and usually FF through only to see Melanie C, but, where it's Disney night, I watched more than that depending on the movie the contestants imitated. I thought it was really sweet, personally.

Re: Cinderella Discussion
Oh, thank you Divinity! I really loved that! So is so awesome for being a same-sex loving (I tries to use the more common word for that and the forum wouldn't let me post it!) woman that kids can look up to and see themselves in, and finally they show a same-sex dance on a hit dancing show and with my favorite movie! It was really sweet, indeed!
I really liked their costumes, too, and that beautiful Mary Blair version of the castle as a background!
What is FF?

Re: Cinderella (Live-Action)
That was a super cool commercial!!! (The $ spent to use all of those cars/characters must have been so much!). I was wondering if they'd use actual Disney Cinderella, and they did!!!!
