Movies that make you cry

I was just wondering what are some films that get the old tear ducts flowing:

Braveheart-When he cries freeedom
Saving Private Ryan-"Earn this''
Cast Away-Okay this is embarassing, but Tom Hanks made cry over losing a volleyball, a freaking volleyball
Monster's Inc-When Sulley and Boo Reunite
Return of the King-("I can't carry it for you, but I can carry it."
The Lion King(A few times, Mufasas death and for some reason the Circle of Life gets me)
Mr. Hollands Opus-Pretty much the last half hour, especially when he walks into the classroom and all his students are there, not a dry eye in the house

Field of Dreams-"want to have a catch" I don't cry too much during this scene, but I went with my dad to see it and he had a hard time with this scene having lost his father when he was younger/

Hoosiers- My God where do I start. Dennis Hopper getting a chance to run the picket fence. "You did good dad, you did real good" Ollie making the winning free throws. And of course Gene Hackman saying to his players "i love you guys"

Depending upon what sort of mood/time of of the month I am in, I can shed tears over just about any movie, happy or sad.

Moulin Rouge gets me everytime; as does Dead Poets Society.

I feel the same way.
Especially about the time of the month.
Not sure I understand that though....

Yesterday, I cried in Bicentennial Man. Incredibly strange.

I cried during In The Cut, but that was only because I wanted it to end.

In the cut was a very bad movie indeed! The Notebook is one of the films that made my eye watery!

The only one I could think of was Old Yeller.

As an adult, none have although I think I came close at the end of Lilo and Stitch. My wife did cry.

On a more humorous note, I remember watching Titanic and the girl beside me started crying about five minutes into the movie and did not let up for the whole movie(I assume she had seen it before, or maybe she was ditched by her boyfriend just before it)

My eyes have been known to flow like Niagra Falls at certain films.

I can remember crying at:

The City of Dreams song at the end of True Stories, the car/rain/walkout sequence of Chasing Amy, the end of Dancer in the Dark is heartbreaking, as is the end of Glory and moments of Amelie come close, as does Mad World in Donnie Darko (Luke's favourite film :P )

I've also been known to have a little cry at certain episodes of The Simpsons - the two episodes I can remember are the one where Bart and Lisa are at the Army Acedemy and the Christmas episode where Bart is caught shoplifting. And a few episodes of E.R.

Oh, and I laughed so hard that tears were falling when watching the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of Manos: The Hands of Fate.

i think the only movie that made me cry was Finding Nemo. i don't know why I cried in that movie. i guess it was the way on how Marlin really cared for Nemo and didnt want nothing bad to happen to him.

Ok, I forgot one!

But that was largely because of a personal association at the time (NB: I NEVER used the word "plateau"), but it is a very emtional scene. Certainly one to show detractors of Kevin Smith.

Tears of laughter:
The first time I saw the infamous PUNISH! scene in Silent Night, Deadly Night (and the second, third and fourth times too).

A Walk to Remember

I Am Sam
Sleepless in Seattle
Hidalgo
Stepmom
Ever After

...and many more, but I just can't think right now.

Okay - Tears of Laughter for me, I only remember one. By the time the third dog bought it in A Fish Called Wanda. I am an animal lover myself, and just the thought of this fellow animal lover unintentionally killing all the animals instead of his intended target was hillarious to me.

For Disney movies, you can read a thread we had a while back on this: Have You Ever Cried In A Disney Movie?.

As for non-Disney movies, I've come close to crying in:

It's A Wonderful Life
Big Fish
The Deep End Of The Ocean
The Color Purple
Miracle Of 34th Street (original)
...That's all that come to mind right now.

The one that makes me cry the most.

Is the 1956 Classic An Affair To Remember I bought the new DVD that came out last year. And everytime I watch it I cry my eyes out that movie is so touching and so sweet and so romantic.

Moulin Rouge
Big Fish
21 Grams

by Sulley
The Fox and the Hound (the scene where she talks to herself on the way to drop off Tod)
Hardball

Choked up, with maybe a few tears, but not a full-blown bawl:
The Return of the King
The Notebook

I guess I just don't get emotional in that way, during movies, although I love anything that can make me experience any especially heightened emotion. I really love to get scared, but unfortunately I VERY rarely am.

Oh, and of course, The Passion Of The Christ. That's the only movie in which tears have actually flowed for me. The others were more misty-eyed/choked up situations.

Bambi - When he goes looking for his mother after she's shot
Dumbo - during the song "Baby Mine"
The Lion King - When Mufasa dies

Not a movie, but:
The last episode of Friends always makes me cry. "I got off the plane."

That's all that comes to mind right now.
