Oh boy....

Alright, let me first point out I have never bought from them, but here is a hint that this is internet fraud. The name is DVD Pacific. Pacific meaning Asia. Asia meaning bootleg DVDs for a small amount of money. Bootleg DVDs meaning you either get them or you get screwed. So ultimately, you get screwed either way. I bought some VCDs from Singapore of a show I loved. When I got them, I played them and they had annoying Malay subtitles that you could not get rid of!

So, you JUST realized that it was a fraud? That's just kind of sad, because it is well-known that if you go to any Chinatown, or any home entertainment store in Asia you will find many bootleg dvds. It's just known that there is an underground market for these items and they will take advantage of you with pirated software, dvds, video games, etc...

My brother's friend went to Chinatown the day after Spiderman 2 came out, and he bought the dvd. He obviously knew it was fake, but he didn't want to wait for the real dvd to come out so he just picked it up.

Unfortunately in your race to just to a conclusion you failed to do any research.

DVDPacific is operated and registered to Brad Searle of Coral Gables, Florida. Turns out it is some redneck southern U.S. hick ripping people off and not the Asians you seem to want to blame for just about everything.

I am not sure the name DVDPacific gives you a hint of wrong doing. After all the US and Canada border on the Pacific. Ocean Pacific is a north american company. I looked at the site itself and it looks professional. Not unlike many other North American retailers.

Thus, your diatribe seems to be totally unfounded.
Well said, JimmyJackJunior. I'm Asian, and I take offense to the common misconception that anything Asian is bootleg, and that any/all Asians are proud of this reputation. Thank you for defending us (although I may have a problem with a reference to someone as "redneck southern US hick", even if I'm not one, lol). :D

First of all, what I said was not racist at all. What you thought I said was racist. I didn't say everything Asian made was bootleg, because pretty much everything is Asian made. Let me just tell you I have more Asian friends than probably most of you. They know and most people know that pirating has been a problem in some parts of Asia, just like there is bootleg clothing problems in the U.S. It's a shame you would take offense to something like that. I mean, how do you go assuming that I was from the U.S let alone a different race? What if I was just one of my Asian friends on here telling you guys that? And then you assume I am a southern hick? I'm a Jewish kid from New Jersey.

The only thing I have sorry to say to you guys is that I'm sorry I assumed DVD Pacific meant from an Asian country. (Which amazingly borders the Pacific Ocean :o )

You guys should join the Republican Party for being good at spreading mass amounts of lies and propaganda.

Asian imports are also rampant in Hawaii. I've bought quite a few DVDs on ebay and IN STORES that were Asian imports

Okay, I pretty much skimmed over this when I started with my first post, But I have a few things to say:
JimmyJackJunior wrote:Prince Ali - thank you very much for your borderline racist diatribe.

JJJ, I agree with the lack of research portion, I'd like to know where PrinceAli gets this information or if it's just his opinion.

PrinceAli wrote: Let me just tell you I have more Asian friends than probably most of you.

What in Jiminy Cricket does having ASIAN FRIENDS have to do with this topic? What does it have to do with anything for that matter. *Wonders if you keep a scorecard with how many friends you have and what ethnicity they are*
PrinceAli wrote: They know and most people know that pirating has been a problem in some parts of Asia

I agree with this. Piracy is a huge problem in Asia. But I'm willing to bet that saying that "The name is DVD Pacific. Pacific meaning Asia....So, you JUST realized that it was a fraud? That's just kind of sad, because it is well-known that if you go to any Chinatown, or any home entertainment store in Asia you will find many bootleg dvds."
Calling someone sad because they failed to realize a DVD wasn't authentic is hardly your right. I'm sure you aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to other topics. Also, who says it's "well known that if you go to any Chinatown, or any home entertainment store in Aisa you will find many bootleg dvds." Have you even BEEN to Asia? Have you checked? You know what they say about ASSumption, don't you?
Finally, you wrote, "and they will take advantage of you with pirated software, dvds, video games, etc... "
I'd love to know who you mean when you write they. Surely you aren't referring about an entire ethnicity or group of ethnicities in one simple word? I'm as different from someone of my own ethic background as I'm sure you are too.

*sigh* I did not come to this forum to read such nonsense. I don't plan on visiting this topic again unless it takes on a positive turn. Any bad words or rebutal anyone may have can be directed towards your nearest trash can.

I know what you mean, DisneyGirl. Usually I try and not bother with anything from PrinceAli since it seems the majority of his posts are mean-spirited hiding under the cover of being frank and candid. But when it comes to even the slightest insulting of my ethnicity, then it becomes a problem for me. :x

Disney Girl, you didn't read clearly enough. I didn't want to be called a racist, so I mentioned I had Asian friends who would have said the same things. The word "they" means dvd pirates, of course you ASSume I mean Asians. And also karlson kinda said it was an asian import so I didn't even need to assume. And yes, I have been to Asia twice. But I don't know how that really matters as long as you know how to read a newspaper or comprehend news on a Tele or radio (as long as you get reliable news).

I can't believe how stupid this topic has become. We already have a topic about this anyway, so lets just put this behind us.

And to make it up to Escapay, I will say Asians are the perfect race, they are even able to somehow not have any criminals or anything go wrong! And hopefully no one will correct me on this, unless of course you want to offend Escapay. Ok guys, so got it? There is NO SUCH THING AS AN ASIAN DVD PIRATE! Thank you class, please join me next time in "ASSuming PrinceAli is a southern redneck hick".

Thanks.

You have a point, but even in the Off Topic section we have topics.

Did you notice that all the threads have names?

As far as Internet fraud goes, the 'net is a scary place.

For all we know Luke is a 83 year old woman named Getrude, Prince Ali may be a mere Duke and I may be a wad of hamburger meat.

Your post sent chills up my spine. First of all Moore doesn't spread lies...he may exaggerate the truth a bit, but he doesn't tell lies.

I'm not going to get that far into the abortion issue, you seem deeply rooted into that belief you hold. But let me just say that there will never be a law that ban abortion on the federal level, so that issue is pretty moot in politics. So John Kerry can't do anything about banning or unbanning abortion in the US since it is a state's right. If you like your good ol' catholic beliefs then go to a state that doesn't allow it. But let me just tell you, despite popular belief...a woman who is raped by a man CAN get pregnant. Do you think it is fair for the woman to have to live with her knowing how her child came to be? Do you think it is fair for a woman to have to have child even if they have no money to support it? Do you think it is fair for a woman to have a child when they don't even have affection for the child? The child will grow up poor and neglected and can be lured into crime and violence. And who are you or 5 old men in the Supreme Court to control how a woman lives their life? You guys just keep trying to take away the freedoms we take for granted one by one, until we are worse off than the most dictator-controlled countries.

These topic has been weaved from that of one on DVD Pacific:

Since then, it's gone off-topic again. I don't really see any point of keeping this open since it's just turned ugly and really doesn't have anything to do with anything it originated from, but for now, I'll leave it open and let it die down naturally.

That's even more offensive than your first statements. The fact that you feel the need to point it out is really quite *ahem*
PrinceAli wrote: The word "they" means dvd pirates, of course you ASSume I mean Asians. And also karlson kinda said it was an asian import so I didn't even need to assume.

So your quote from the first post where you use the word they (well, that least the one that I was referring to) "They will take advantage of you with pirated software, dvds, video games, etc." So if you're using the word THEY to mean DVDs Pirates that's fine, but I'm not assuming anything since in the sentance before that you're talking about Asia and Chinatown. Hmm...That's not assumption, that's following the subject of the paragraph, I think we learn it in, what, second grade?

*stands up and claps* It's so wonderful to know that you can read/watch the news, perhaps one headline here or there. A newspaper article or such and think that it's ONLY Asia that has the problem. That's like watching an feature on Female Anorexia and thinking it's only women that have the problem.

Thank you for splitting the threads Luke, I have been chomping at the bit to enter this fray but was keeping out because of respect for Karlsen.

1) Ali - I never called you a racist, I said you made a borderline racist comment. In my mind they are two seperate things. I dont know you nearly well enough to call you a racist. As well, as has been pointed out in other posts to this thread you are not the first person to label it as an Asian problem, when obviously it is a worldwide problem(See #2.)

2) As I posted yesterday before Karlsen request I remove it the top three bootlegging countries in the world for CDs(mind you not DVDs but gives you an impression are
1) Brazil, 2) Russia, 3) Mexico.
Taiwan and China clock in at four and five but the music industry trade group reports that Asia is the only the third biggest producers of illegal bootlegs behind Latin America and Eastern Europe.

3) No one including Escapay ever said Asians are a perfect race. Your oringinal post indicated that Asians were the primary problem when in this case Asians had nothing to do with the problem. Yes there are greedy Asians DVD Pirates who steal others products but there are also greedy Americans(the guy who was busted recently in the States for Song of the South and see point 1 above for problems in other parts of the world.

4) The truth has finally come out - Loomis is nothing but a wad of hamburger meat. I suspected as much.

5) I am not sure why Uncle Remus and Ali are debating who is more morale the Republicans or the Democrats. They are both political parties who will always choose the more politically expediate solution over the morally correct one. Neither killing unborn children or bombing wedding parties repeatedly are very moral, so neither Bush or Kerry will win on those grounds.

6) While Bowling for Columbine was roasted for factual errors, Farenheit 9/11 has not been. In fact Moore's experience with Columbine led him to hire independent editors and fact checkers to go through the documentary for such errors. To my knowledge not a single one has been found in his current movie.

7) Disney Girl - you should not run from political debates. It is what makes living in the free world(or as free as it is these days) great. I am glad we can live in a place where we can slam Bush and Kerry for their policies and let our own beliefs be known. More than 50% of the world does not live in such societies.

First of all, I don't even know how I was called a racist in the first place, I didn't say anything offensive to any particular race. Second, apparently things you don't understand you regard as stupid. Last time I checked, if you are good friends with a group outside of your race, the last thing you'd be considered is a racist. I only had to point that out because you guys still had some bizarre reason to call me a racist.

And when do we learn how to spell the word "sentence"? I didn't think this was a term paper I was writing, and I thought it would be useless to have a one sentence paragraph. I'm sorry you have trouble with that.

*Gives a round of applause to DisneyGirl* I was going to see how long it took you to realize that Luke split up the topics, but I'll give you the applause early. Anyway, the news is a wonderful thing, you should try to keep track of it daily like me. And where on Earth did I say that Asia was the only continent with a pirating problem?! I merely said that there is a major problem there. ASSumers... LOL I even said there was a bootlegging problem in the U.S, but oh well. I can't seem to reason with you at all.

Wise choice, run and hide from my political debate, I'd crush you in it. :P

Phew, I feel so much better being accused of a borderline racist comment. It is not exclusively an Asian problem...see above...

That all depends on what chart or list you are referring to. I did some research and South Korea has the highest percentage of internet users with high-speed connections, 60 to 70 percent. They also have the highest percentage of internet users who download films illegally at 58%. After S.K, France has 27%, U.S has 24%. High-speed connections allow users to download movies faster, and piracy can grow because of that.
3) No one including Escapay ever said Asians are a perfect race. Your oringinal post indicated that Asians were the primary problem when in this case Asians had nothing to do with the problem. I know no one said that. But it seems if I say anything bad about Asia whether it be true or false, he will be offended. Again they are not the only ones with the problem, but have it one of the worst if not the worst. Of course there are greedy American business do-ers, might I mention Enron, Worldcom, Tyco, Halliburton? That wasn't the topic though.
JimmyJackJunior wrote:4) The truth has finally come out - Loomis is nothing but a wad of hamburger meat. I suspected as much.

mmmmmm.....hamburger meat.....

We weren't debating over who is more morale, but I don't know why he started in on the politics. So I just replied. Again, I don't see how Kerry has any influence at all on whether abortion should be legal or not, since it is a state's right. So there shouldn't be a ground on that, but Bush obviously had influence on the bombing in Iraq, so there is a ground for that.

I think that is an American myth that only half of the world can do that. I think most of the world is able to slam their respective leaders. More and more countries are breaking out of the chains of strict dictatorship and becoming fre-er and progessing much faster. (except U.S and others)

William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor- Episcopalian
Millard Fillmore- Unitarian

While I don't normally respond to those who feel they have the right to tell me what I should and should not do, please don't say that you arne't since your first three words are "you should not"...and let me say this, I'm well aware of politics and how it influences my life, however, I did not come to a Disney forum to talk about such topics.
