Jerry Goldsmith have died in the age of 75.
One of my favorite composers!

yeah i have just heard of him today. I never heard of him. i found out that he was the one who composed the Star Trek theme. for some odd reason to me, the Star Trek theme and the Star Wars theme sort of sound alike.

He did some good scores for the two Gremlins movies and the recent Looney Toons: Back in Action.

Welcome to the forum re77. at first when i heard that he did the score to Back in Action, I thought he probably also did the score to Space Jam. strangely he didn't.

Mine too, the Mulan score is marvelous.

While the name "Jerry Goldsmith" would never come to mind when thinking of my favorite film score composers, looking over his body of work, his scores for Planet of the Apes, Patton, and Gremlins do stand out as being particularly memorable.
