I think all of these would fit into the timeline. Obviousy some would have to be "fudged" slightly. Professor Challenger would have to be a younger version I think, before the events of The Lost World.

Probably none of those. I don't know who I would want as a new character. Maybe Quasi Modo?

Yeah, I'm not sure about the choices myself. Most are too obvious, I'm sure Alan Moore has some more subtle characters in mind.

I do think Irene Adler would be a good selection. She is the only woman Sherlock Holmes respected, and was (almost) an equal intelectually to the great detective himself! I can see some excellent character interaction happening if she were on the team (but she is probably too much like Mina).

I would love the next story to be about Lovecraft's Great Old Ones! The series has flirted with Lovecraft in the text supplements in each volume. It's hard finding a continuing character in the Lovecraft stories. They tend to die or go insane.

Again, the Time Traveller has been appears in the Allan and the Sundered Veil text story in Vol 1. But it would be cool to have him as a member of the team. Perhaps just before he completed his time machine, but still posessing the knowledge of his theory of time travel, and perhaps a few smaller, low key gadgets he created when experimenting...

I'm tempted to vote for "Father O'Malley (Cthulhu/The Haunter of the Dark)", to give another nod to Lovecraft.

However, it is hard to say. I kind of agree none of those would be my ideal choices. I've heard Volume 3 would be set in the First World War, so maybe that would provide some more choices.

So from Lovecraft you could include Herbert West (from Herbert West: Reanimator). A mad professor is always good to have, although I'm not entirely sure he fits the time frame (the story was published in 1922, although I'm not sure if it was set earlier). Of course, a younger West may fit in nicely.

Tarzan would seem to be another choice. Given Hyde's fate in Volume 2, it would be nice to see another human containing an inner animal. 2099net suggested he could appear as Lord Greystoke.''

However, the Time Traveller seems irresistible - only because I love time travel stories!

(BTW, I take it you mean League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, not the League of Gentlemen.

Otherwise I'd say more Herr Lipp! And a character for Dylan Moran!)

I voted for Prof. Challenger (The Lost World)
