Hi guys, I wanted to ask a question to those that have pre-ordered at the Disney store. Did your DVDs have the pesky Disney store stickers that sometimes can leave nasty residue on beautiful artwork? Also, when you ordered something with a "storybook" slipcover, was it in perfect mint condition? I'm really picky about this stuff.

P.S. Does anybody remember if the last Platinum Gift Set was available with the free lithos/pens/plush toys?

This is not really related to your topic Prince Eric (yeah I know shame on me! ) but since you mentioned it, does anybody know how to get rid of nasty sticker/glue residues without damaging the artwork or the plastic cases etc, etc? That stuff is nasty.

Tips from Uncle Jens!

Tip 1: Use a hairdryer when you remove a sticker: 10 to 20 seconds back and forth with the Hairdryer above the sticker. After that you can take the sticker off without glue remainings.

Tip 2: When you have glue on the plastic case you can take a soft towel with a little bit "white spirit" on it and rub it softly on the glue, it will vanish in no time! But BEWARE, don't do this on any printed paper with ink on it! Only on plastic!

I tend to use nail polish remover, or eucalyptus oil/tea tree oil.

Any clear coloured alcoholic rubbing thingy is what he means.

Just don't drink it, kids.

There is a product out there called Goof Off which is available at most hardware stores, and it takes the glue off in a flash. There are two forms of the product, one is water based and less agressive and the other is very agressive.

Wow perfect timing thanks to everyone for the great tips I just bought the Masterpiece Edition of Alice in Wonderland and it hyas an annoying white sticker but I didnt know how to get it off. SO MUCHAS GRACIAS

Thanks to Mermaid Kelly, the Disney offered free lithographs with Lion King Gift Set, but they didn't offer the plush toys or pins.

Thanks for the tips and information guys! Now does anyone care to share their thoughts on their shipped Disney DVDs? I'm seriously considering buying the next three animated classics from the Disney Store online.

P.S. They're offering free lithos with the pre-order of Mulan and Home on the Range! How exciting!

when I ordered the lion king set my lithos came trashed that's because I used free shipping but when they resend the stuff thru fed ex it came mint. They're good at replacing damage items, you can also take the lithos back to a local disney store and they will exchange them for you!

Goof Off is chemical based, and pretty much kills everything I tried it on.

Better is Goo Gone, which is citrus based (orange), and is universally better liked.

So MickeyMouseBoy, does that mean you get free lithos with the Gift Sets?

Sorry to hear that your lithos were damaged during the shipping process. I'm glad that Disney was able to replace the lithos.

My brother pre-ordered the Lion King and Lion King 1 1/2 from DisneyStore.com. Disney sent the DVD and extras in a cardboard box for each movie. When both packages arrived, the box and lithographs were intact. The package arrived via Pacel Select and Airborn Express.

I never order box sets, digipacks, or anything with slip covers in the mail.

What I find disturbing is when you order a DVD online, then when you receive it, you find that its not on the spindle and freely roaming around the disc case.

How hard is it for them to make sure it's attached?

I HATE that, it's happened to me in stores, too. You can usually tell when you pick it up, but not always. (And in the case of Jumpin' Jack Flash, which I recently purchased, it was the only copy they had- luckily, it plays just fine).
