I know we had this discussion a few weeks ago but, now that some time has passed, I would like to know from you who live in the USA: how well have the Treasures been selling during this month that has passed since their release? Have they almost disappeared already or you still can find lots on them in stores?

Unfortunately you can still find them in stores, i checked Best Buy in Rhode Island and a mall in NYC

Well I dont know about the USA, but in Vancouver, Canada all but the Tomorrowland are still pretty easy to find.

In Costco you could still find On the Front Lines.
Best Buy the last time I check still had them all while Wal-Mart only had Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol. 2, Tomorrowland and On the Front Lines.
Maybe at the Malls they might have them all still due to the high prices.

We went to Target today, and I didn't see any treasures! Well then again, I wasn't really looking for them since I already have the ones I wanted. But the one time I did see them, they only had Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol. 2.

For some reason, On the Front Lines and Tomorrowland are NOT selling in So. NJ. Our Sam's Club has a BIG display of Disney Treasures and they're all On the Front Lines and Tomorrowland.

I was at a Best Buy and saw Mickey, Front Lines, and Tomorrowland.

It would suck so much if we never see more waves

Well, we must remmeber this is the wave with the biggest number o prints, so it will take more time to disappear.

I've been to a few places to check on the availability of the Treasures DVDs. Most places that I went to, do not have the Tomorrowland DVD anymore. Others are missing the Donald one. Every place that I checked out still had at least the Mickey in Living Color and Disney on the Front Lines.

OK, not really the topic but WOW, now you can find the two Treasures MICKEY MOUSE and DONALD for just CA$23.98, at DVDSoon.
No shipping costs.
And THAT is cheap....

Except for Tomorrowland, which has the fewest number of prints, at only 105,000.

Why does everyone seem disappointed that they haven't sold out in a month?

I saw them all over the place in Walt Disney World while I was down there, and my local Media Play still has tons.

Because they can't wait until they can sell the 10 copies they bought on E-bay at inflated prices.

Actually no, its because we fear that if they don't sell well either the project will be canned or they won't put as much effort into it. We already lost the cool numbered tins, whats next??

You lost "the cool numbered tins" because they were selling too well. Not embossing the numbers on the actual tins enables them to increase the print run to meet demand without having to trash 'x' hundred thousands tins with the wrong numbers on. It's nothing to do with effort, it's just for flexibility.

There's no danger of the series being cancelled. They've produced more tins this wave than ever before. If the worst comes to the worse, they'll just go back to last wave's numbers.

Besides, it doesn't really matter how well they are selling on the shelves, it only matters if Disney have sold out - and it appears that they have (based on restocks not being available from a number of on-line stores). It's been a 100% success for Disney.

My BEST BUY has a huge display with the treasures, and basically only 5 have been sold. Last week at Wal-Mart they had a huge display now there are only 2 left!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as I get all the animated shorts I'm happy. Too bad they include stuff like MMC which should have simply been released in a giant season boxset. Can't wait for more Donald.

Since they're coming out with a fourth wave, I don't think people need to worry about the project being canned.

As far as the people who bought multiple copies to sell them on eBay, I'm sure there is some truth to that. I was tempted to pick up an extra copy of Front Lines to sell later, but then I realized that tons of people are already doing that. And it's never the obvious things that later become valuable. It's the stuff that you never expect, like Duel, which was recalled almost immediately, or the Beavis and Butthead multiple disc collection. Shortly after it's recall, several copies actually sold on eBay for over $400. It was insane. But buying an extra copy just to make a profit of maybe $50 years later, hardly seems worth it (to me anyway). The only reason I buy them is to watch the content.

myelf - exactly. Each and every release will have less and less opportunity to make a profit. I think another factor is a lot of people did not have DVDs for the first wave. Thus they did not buy them.

Personally, I bought a DVD player because of the first wave.

I think it's a little early... I seem to remember that Wave II did not start to become scarce until mid to late February '03, or 10 weeks after release to stores. So we have another month or so before we get to the same amount of time; add to that the increased number manufactured for all but Tomorrowland, and also the fact that Christmas isn't right around the corner this time ...

My local Best Buy was sold out of Donald & Tomorrowland for a very long time... now they have plenty of Tomorrowlands back on the shelf. I don't know what's up with that. Everywhere else has few, if any, Treasures sets left.

If anyone would sell out, it would be Amazon.com, right? For some reason, even Donald is still in stock there.
