Hello all, I'm a new member so be gentle. Firstly I love the web site, it's helped me many times, not to mention it's helped add about 50 more DVD's to my collection :). My question is, I currently own the following Deluxe Disney VHS Sets and Deluxe or Disney Archive Laserdisc Sets:

Deluxe Disney VHS Sets
Lion King
Toy Story
Cinderella
Aladdin
Winnie the Pooh
Pinocchio
Pocahontas
Fantasia
Snow White
Jungle Book
Beauty & The Beast

Deluxe Disney Laserdisc Sets
Lion King
Toy Story
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Cinderella
Snow White
Fantasia
Sleeping Beauty
Pinocchio
Pocahontas

Disney Archive Laserdisc Sets
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Mary Poppins
Tron
The Three Caballeros / Saludos Amigos

Does anyone know if I am missing any other sets? By the way all of my sets are US NTSC releases besides the Jungle Book which I got from the UK. I have looked all over the web and can't seem to find a complete list of all the sets. For people that don't know what these sets are, I'll explain. The sets came with various items such as: Lithographs, making of videos, books, CD soundtracks, ect., normally in an oversized collectors box (about 16 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 2 inches thick, depending on the set for VHS, and smaller boxes for LD's). Each set originally sold for around $75 to $100 USD. If anyone has any addition information about any other sets that may have been released I would be very grateful. Thank You.

You didn't mention the "Alice In Wonderland" Archive laserdisc. And then there are also Japanese laserdisc sets - some of which were not released in the US: "Mickey Mouse - A Star Is Born" (Archive), "Donald Duck - A Star Is Born" (Archive) and "Aladdin". I think there's also supposed to be Japanese LD box sets of "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty And The Beast".

I forgot that you did not include Mickey Mouse - The Black and White Years - Volume 1. Although it is listed as Volume 1, no other volumes were produced.

The original post referred to VHS or laserdisc sets ONLY, not DVDs.

Maybe not falling into your definition of deluxe box set, but if you joined both the Widescreen Beauty and The Beast Laserdisc and Work in Progress Laserdisc you'd have a 4 disc edition...

Thank You everyone, you all have helped me greatly.

There is another... though not a true Disney film

Although this is not a true Disney film, there is a distinct relationship. The deluxe laserdisc set that I am talking about is The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Just on US releases, there was never a deluxe edition of Bambi on laserdisc. It was just a plain old standard edition. Cannot speak for VHS or Japanese laserdisc releases.

Plain old standard edition...? Well, of Bambi on LD there is at least a CAV edition with extras - although not a box set.

Those two were combined into a box set in Japan, along with an additional music video, seen here:

There was no Little Mermaid box set in Japan. But there were several U.S. double disc CAV editions with extras not included on DVD versions:

Little Mermaid
Lady and the Tramp
Peter Pan
Jungle Book
Fun and Fancy Free
Bambi

You can pretty much add Bedknobs and Broomsticks to the laserdisc "Archive Collection". At the last minute, they decided to change the name to the "25th Anniversary" version, but it has the same style, white gatefold jacket with extras. I don't think all of the extras made it to the DVD version, but the laserdisc is open-matte, while the DVD is cropped as it was shown in the theaters. I have always wondered about the VHS box set of The Many Adventure Of Winnie the Pooh. There was no laserdisc box, only a remastered version with a making-of. Did the VHS box set include more video material than a making-of?

mvealf, as for the The Many Adventure Of Winnie the Pooh Deluxe VHS Edition, I couldn't tell you. My set is still factory sealed, sorry. As far as I can tell it is just the movie itself and an additional VHS of the making of.

Besides the making of on a separate VHS, the deluxe edition of "Winnie the Pooh" came with a one-of-a-kind artist portfolio - featuring 5 litographs that show the creative process form E.H. Shepard's original Pooh illustration to the finished animation art and a special deluxe edition of the Winnie the Pooh storybook.
I have a picture of the boxset here on my PC (although I don't have the real thing), but I can't post it.

The regular VHS has "A Day For Eeyore" and "Behind-the-scenes footage" according to amazon.com. The laserdisc and DVD both have a 25 minute making-of special. So does the second tape in the VHS set contain only a 25 minute making-of, or is there more?
