Treasure Planet R1 or R2?

Treasure Planet is out in the UK next week but I'm still really unsure if I should buy that version. I really want the visual commentary and don't mind paying the extra pound for the R1 version of playusa if the R2 DVD doesn't have it.
But I was looking at the contents on both disc's and maybe I'm being really dumb but the extra's list looks really different between them. Is it just the people that wrote up what extra's are on the disc's decided to the same things different names, pencil tests for one and rough animation for another for example?
Can someone confirm that its just the fact that the region 2 disc might not be getting the visual commentary thats the only difference.
Thanks in advance!

Looking at the official press release (
from DVDTimes) it would appear the listings are the same. However the visual commentary is not listed.
This could be a mistake - a commentary was passed by the BBFC way back in
December 2002! However Disney has had other features certified in the past and not used on the UK discs (such as their craptacular single disc Roger Rabbit UK release - which is also missing a commentary present on all other international versions of the film).
I suppose the only thing to do is wait for an online review.

The danish R2 release which came out last week does have the isual commentary so I would be very surprised if the british left it out.

Yeah, well the European countries got a 2 disc Roger Rabbit while the UK didn't. And the single disc UK Roger Rabbit is missing the commentary. As well as lots of other features that had already been passed by the BBFC!

You won't belive the lengths people had to go to on the various UK DVDForums just to get an accurate listing of the UK disc's specifications!
It's their loss. If Disney UK feel no need to give us all the features or tell us what's going to be on the discs then fine. Just don't expect me to buy them. I imported the French 2 disc Roger Rabbit set to get a PAL version. And I already have the French Treasure Planet (which I bought in the collector's set with Treasure Island).
Anyhow Disney UK as their official Treasure Planet website up now:
http://www.disney.co.uk/DisneyVideos/treasure/home.html
No mention of the Visual Commentary on the DVD listing! You'd think it would be the main selling point of the disc - but not by Disney UK staff. They think so little of it that they've either dropped it completely or decided it's not worth mentioning!
(Notice of the UK site doesn't list the soundtracks or the aspect ratio either. As if people would actually be interested in information like that?)

I went and bought the Region one DVD instead, cos I'm sure the visual commentary wont be on ours anyway.

Roger Rabbit. No - not the French version anyhow. It also didn't get the pointless Full Screen version of the film either!

Treasure Planet is out in the UK tomorrow. Has anyone seen any on-line reviews which state if the visual commentary does or doesn't exist or has a DTS soundtrack on the UK version?

Got this reply from a request for help on the UK based DVDForums:
Andrew_Lee wrote:It doesn't seem to be mentioned on the packaging but I can confirm that it IS on the bonus features menu.
Didn't have time to actually look at it at lunchtime though...
so it does have the visual commentary. God knows why Disney UK seem to think the most important supplement is not worth mentioning anywhere
Still no news on DTS availability - being as the UK release only includes English and Russian soundtracks it should be possible (after all the French release only has English and French soundtracks, but fits in a French DTS track - and I understand the German edition has DTS too).

God damn it! I knew if I bought the Region 1 DVD the visual commentary would be on the region 2 for a pound cheaper. Ah well that'll teach me to wait.

According to the DVDForums, the UK Treasure Planet does include a DTS track.

I missed a DTS track on the American edition... The Dolby Digital one is very good, but DTS may be even better!
