Track the Movies You Watch (Ongoing)
Posted: Fri Jun 18, 2004 8:53 pm
by Loomis
I started thinking about my "movies of the year" list, and how I always have trouble at the end of the year remembering what I posted.
So here is the idea - you post the movies you watch here (kind of like the DVDs you have bought thread).
As I got the idea from another site, here is the disclaimer from their site (
www.horrrordvds.com):
Here's a disclaimer, from another site. I think both threads can co-exist peacefully.
DISCLAIMER: Please post only your list, no off-topic posts please. These only make the thread long and cluttered. Also, when you see more movies, edit your original post rather than making a new one so that we can keep the thread as short as possible.
See my thread posted below as an example.
*
UPDATE: To clarify Luke's post below, it doesn't have to be just movies in theatres. I'm mainly doing this to track what I've seen this year, so I'll mainly do theatre posts. But being Disney fans, we know there are a lot of DTVS, or simply things we buy on DVD. So post away. The important thing is to save bandwidth and not post more than your original post (updated), and no "discussion".
Hope this takes off!

Thanks Jack.
I know bumping stuff is a no-no, but I was going to suggest to Luke to make this sticky once it hits the top again.
Given that everyone really only gets one list each, once everyone has posted, it is going to drop quickly - and it is meant to be ongoing.
Perhaps it could be sticky until the end of the year, then we post a new one each year (assuming we still care by then).
Just a thought.

I have an idea. We have "What Disney Movie Did You Just Watch" in General Discussion, so how about a "What Non-Disney Movie Did You Just Watch" thread in Off-Topic? It would serve essentially the same purpose as this, but would keep itself bumped at the top, so people like me wouldn't get so behind. Everyone would still have a record of what they've watched right there in the thread, and they could even keep track of it on a Word document at the same time, if they wanted. Whaddya think?

Good Idea
Or like the New DVD Thread...
Just post what you watch. I might still continue to update my main list though.
Just saw
Fahrenheit 9/11 last night. By no means perfect, but certainly raises some good issues. I think the important thing to take away is an ability to discuss the issues, rather than attack Moore and/or Bush.
