George Lucas Talks Star Wars: Episode III Title Source: USA Today Tuesday, June 15, 2004
USA Today caught up with George Lucas who said the Star Wars: Episode III title won't be officially announced until November, when the first trailer hits threaters.
But he conceded that fans on websites already have guessed correctly. The newspaper threw a couple of rumored titles at him: Rise of the Empire? "No, that's not it," Lucas said. How about Revenge of the Sith?
With that, Lucas smiled knowingly, backed away and teased, "That's a possibility. Lots of titles out there."
Revenge of the Sith reminds me a lot of Return of the Jedi title from Episode VI.
I would prefer to hear Birth of Dark Vader or Rise of the Dark Side.
Oh, well at least George Lucas came up with a great title.

I do like that title. I will admit I have been very entertained by the prequels. Sure the acting is wooden, the dialogue is unbearable at times and I'd like erase every Jar Jar program out there. But they've still been a lot fun.

Here's some crazy stuff for you Star Wars fans.
The actor that played Anakin in Part 1, Jake Lloyd I believe...well, he goes to high school here in Carmel, IN. From what I've heard he actually got booted from a private HS here (Park Tudor) and is now at Carmel.

What a loser! Anywho, I like Revenge of the Sith much better than Birth of the Empire or Fall of the Republic, it mirrors ROTJ perfectly. I wonder how many hours it took GL to come up with this name.

Probably the same amount of time it took him to write the scripts and the sparkling dialogue from Episode II.
"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth. "
Lucas - you are a brilliant writer

Hopefully Episode III will be more true to the originals and less like the prequels, which were so colorul. It reminded me of the difference btweeen the first two Harry Potter and the third one, which was more like a real movie.

I'm sure Episode III is the most anticipated film of 2005. It is the last film of one of the greatest sagas ever made.
"Revenge of the Sith" is a really cool name, btw.

Even though the prequels have been flawed, I admit I loved them all the same. Revenge of the Sith (if that truly is the title) is a far better title than Attack of the Clones (which reminded me of some 50's B-movie when I first heard that title). I'm very much looking forward to this, especially since Lucas promised it'd be the darkest of the prequels. Although I must admit I'm looking forward to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and The Chronicles of Narnia more than this. I'm positive, though, that these three films will be huge money makers and will find a place in the top five grossing movies of 2005.

I love how critics love to criticize the prequel dialogue yet they made Spiderman's dialogue seem like Shakespeare. As for Jake Lloyd, I met him last month and he seemed like a really nice kid to me. The one thing that stood out about him was his handshake... like a vice grip! But he was very cool talking with fans, signing autographs, etc. He seemed like he had it together, intelligent and outgoing. I hope that everything is going well for him.
Anyway, I like the title as well. I admit to being shocked by the first two prequel titles when I first heard them, but in retrospect they make sense. They just didn't sound 'Star Wars-y' at the time.
The Phantom Menace pertains to an individual character whose actions affect the entire series. That character of course being Senator/Chancellor/Emperor Palaptine, aka Darth Sidious.
A New Hope was referring to Luke, who of course affected where the series went in the originals.
The Empire Strikes Back was a simple title, revealing basically the main action of that chapter just as
Attack of the Clones did. (It wasn't simply called The Clone Wars since we only got to see the opening battle of it.)
Of course then we have
Return of the Jedi, again referring back to the individual mentioned in the first title,
A New Hope. With Luke finally completeing his training and facing Vader, he became a Jedi, thus returning their order to the galaxy. Now, if this last film is really being titled
Revenge of the Sith it will follow suit, referring back to Palpatine and his dark order getting their revenge on the Jedi for exterminating their kind.
Here's a pic. Could be the DVDs?

Oooh, if that's authentic, then very VERY nice! I've been waiting for them to release cover art for the individual cases because honestly, I plan on putting my box away and putting the original trilogy on my DVD shelf next to my prequels. It's good to know that they'll all match, just like the press release claimed they would.

Oh god no! I like the new covers they put on the rerelease of the SE VHS set. These look so neony..... I just hope they're fake. From the trailer I've seen of the DVDs, LFL used the original artwork from all three films.

Well, if these are authentic, I don't think you'd have to worry about them looking too neon-y. Based on the pic, it seems the pic's quality is exaggerating the colors, giving it that neon glow. I think it's more probable that these are the covers than the ones in the trailer simply because it's been confirmed that the OT covers have been made to match the prequels. Even if these are fake, I'd suspect the official covers to be in the same league as these.

Both
TheForce.net and
The Digital Bits have posted those covers in better quality. I don't really like them, but I'm sure they'll grow on me.

Is "The Silent Hill" related to Star Wars III? This topic is about Star Wars III, so what's with "The Silent Hill"? Unless you tell me the subtitle for Episode III is "The Silent Hill".

Its a humorous attempt to show how uninterested in the SW films he is...which is kinda hard to prove when he keeps posting in SW threads!

I know what he means, Maerj, but if he's not interested about Star Wars, he should ignore this topic. For example, if I'm not interested in Star Trek, should I go to a Star Trek forum and say "I don't like Star Trek"? There's no point about doing that.

Me and Netty have known each other for a long time, so I was just funnin' him there.
