Ok, I've changed this to a new title to reflect the new formats.

Been meaning to do it for years.

We'll keep this as an ongoing thread.

Peace

Something called Extreme Sports Fun is coming out here on August 4, "Mickey, Donald and Goofy take on the sports challenge to become 'Olympic Champs'. Includes 8 wild and wacky stories."

Details (as silm as they are) here:
http://www.bvhe.com.au/viewtitledetails?TITLE_ID=1202

Presumably this will be a compilation of shorts, but I don't know which ones yet.

BIG TREASURES NEWS

Two more volumes of Disney Treasures will be out in August: Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse in Living Colour Volume Two 1939-Today and Walt Disney Treasures: The Chronological Donald Volume One 1934-1941 (Source: EmpireDVD).

This is great news as they have only recently come out in the U.S., so on the plus side it means we are getting them faster this time. Of course, this means that the local market has missed 2 volumes from Wave 1, and all of Wave 2.

Both will be 2-Disc sets. The Mickey Mouse DVD will contain bonus featurettes and shorts: The Voice Behind The Mouse;Mickey's Cartoon Comeback; Mickey Meets The Maestro; Mouse Mania;Mickey Cartoon Physics From 'Plausible Impossible';Mickey On The Camera Stand From 'Tricks Of Our Trade'; The Making Of Mickey's 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'; Deleted Animation From 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' and the 'Mickey and The Beanstalk' segment from Fun and Fancy Free. The Donald volume will only contain galleries and the featurette 'The Man Behind The Duck: Clarence 'Ducky' Nash'.

Both are out August 4.

Oh, that's interesting! Let's hope it will include Goofy's "Soccermania"!

I hope so too, since I just asked about that Goofy short in another thread recently!

Disney's Extreme Sport Fun is aparently being released on zone 2 Europe the same day too.

http://www.directmedia.ch/dvd/detail.cf ... nr=9333697

Maybe some of the included shorts will be from the Goofy's Extreme Sports series from Mouse Works.

Once again, Deathie Mouse, Disney is not exactly fast and free with the information. Guess we will know if and when it is in our hot little hands.

FYI - I've updated the above list so it is easier to see when everything is coming out. I'll post down here whenever I've updated the list.

I just hope that the earlier two volumes (The Complete Goofy, and MM in B&W) are released shortly after these sets come out.

That's excellent news!
Good to see there will be something new.

I hate to be one of those people though...
but this is called an AUSTRALIAN release dates thread. :P (Hee hee hee...it's Stitch news, like I care!)

At any rate, good to see there will be a commentary among other things, as well as a feature length doco. Couldn't really ask for anything more.

The only sad thing about this is that it wasn't released the first time around (given we know that it was largely prepared already).

Out in Australia November 17.

Ok, I've updated the top thread again with all the September titles.

Nothing too special, except To coincide with the The Three Musketeers, Disney will also release Mickey's Laugh Factory and Donald's Laugh Factory. Anyone know what these are?

Ok, some details on Extreme Sports Fun:

"EXTREME SPORTS FUN serves up a hilarious look at sports starring Pluto, Mickey, Donald and other classic Disney characters. It's a winner with everyone in the family! In first place, "Olympic Champ" Goofy goes for the gold in walking, running, hurdles, discus and javelin throwing and wins all the laughs. Then, in "Canine Caddy," Mickey needs to keep his eye on the ball when a mischievous gopher tries to ruin his golf game. In "Soccermania", Goofy saves the day - and the soccer tournament - when evil thieves try everything to win a million-dollar trophy! Next, it's time to exercise your laugh muscles when Goofy tries body building in "Goofy Gymnastics"."

As I thought, these will be older cartoons collected together. Aussies still don't have a complete Goofy DVD, so some of these might be worthwhile.

The BIG plus (especially for Joe Carioca, who asked about this one) is that Soccermania will be on there, which is a 1987 19 minute short with Scrooge, the 3 nephews and Sport Goofy!!!

Thanks Loomis! :) :) :) that's indeed great news, as I was afraid Soccermania would take a long while to appear on DVD! (Now only Goofy's Freewayphobia No. 1 (1965) and Goofy's Freeway Trouble (1965) will be missing from DVD after the next wave of treasueres come s out)

Btw, Soccermania supposedly has the rare first appearance of Roger Rabbit (I hope they dont edit him out or something!)

Thanks a lot for the good news, Loomis! This is going to be a sure-buy for me when it arrives here in Brazil! :thumb:

Hmm, I have the VHS (it was released here in Brazil) and I have never noticed him. Maybe I should look more carefully next time.
