Luke, I can see this belonging in any of the forums here, except Trade, International, or DMC, so feel free to move it where you think it fits best.

I thought it would be cool if we have our first Ultimate Disney.com MB Awards! This is the nominating round. You may submit up to 3 nominations for each category, and nominations should be sent to me via PM. You may not nominate yourself for anything. After they have been sent and tabulated, the official nominations will be posted here for you to vote on. The number of final nominees selected for each category will vary. Got it? Good. :)

The Categories

There will also be one honorary award given to a member in a special category. You may submit any ideas, suggestions, or nominations for this as well.

This might be a tad confusing, so let me know if you have any questions. :)

Send in your noms by Monday, June 14th at 11:59pm (eastern time).

Sounds good, and thanks. Just remember to PM me so that there's a little air of mystery about the finalists. :P If 12 categories is too much, lemme know.

I nominate Jake Lipson for the "Most likely to work in PR" award. In fact, I'll see if BVHE UK would be interested in hiring him, they could do with somebody doing their PR!

I nominate 2099net for "Biggest Pete Fan of UD"

(My nominations are sent)

Thanks. I also thought I should add (and I'll edit my original post to reflect this), that no one may nominate themselves for anything, just because then we might run into everyone nominating themselves, lol. No one has done it yet, but I thought I'd say this before it happens.

Aaron - all of those awards are so nice. How about some bad natured ones to go with them.

We could even name them in honor of some of our fallen commrades. The Basil award for....

 I thought about it, but I was worried that awards that are slightly negative, even in jest, might be taken the wrong way and feelings would be hurt. I also didn't want to overload people with categories.

If everyone thinks we should, though, then we could always add more. :?:

   But who would win??? :?

Hah- go on her fan club and ask that question, and I think the place would fall apart... they know in their hearts that it's me, though. :P

I definitely don't think the slightly-negative award thing is a good idea...terrible, actually. It's not good to hurt people's feelings if it's a joke.

I've seen people hurt too many times, and each time it hurt me as well.

Ok, well one serious objection is enough. Of course, they wouldn't actually be mean-spirited, but they might be interpreted that way, as humor doesn't always come through well on MBs. We'll just stick with my initial thought, then, that it's not the best of ideas. :) Thanks, Sekaino.

Well then I would like to lobby for most amusing poster of the year. In fact this is my official campaign lauch. I just need to know is it based on pupular vote or the electoral college?

Just a friendly reminder that all nominations are due tomorrow at 11:59pm eastern time, so there's about a day left to send them in if you haven't yet. :)

The Final Nominees

by AwallaceUNC
Ok, the nominations are in! Before going on, I want to say that there a lot of board members, and a lot of nominations were submitted. Please don't take offense. :)

The number of nominees for each category was dependant on the number of different suggested nominations submitted for it (as close to 3-5 nominees as the received nominations would allow, never less than 3).

Please send your final votes to me, via PM, by 11:00pm (eastern time) on Sunday, June 20th. The first winner will be announced the following Monday. You may vote for only one nominee in each category. Unlike the nominating round, you MAY vote for yourself if you were nominated.

And the nominees are...

Interesting...Strictly going by the nominations, I'm neither amusing, intelligent, informative, nor friendly, yet I'm nominated for member of the year. It's gotta be my good looks. ;) Thanks to whoever nominated me! :D

Ha...
I was nominated in four categories and I hadn't even looked at this thread!

I feel a little insulted I was left off Most Intelligent, but I suppose I'm in the 872 members who didn't get nominated in that category (we have way more members than I thought!).

No seriously - very honoured somebody thought I was friendly, kind, amusing and informative. You guys are sweet. And I haven't even been here for a few months!

Still four nods, plus a participation in at least three others... I'm Lord of the Rings :D

Ok, who needs to be bribed to win this thing? :P

I, too, am honored by the noms. :) Just a note: If you aren't listed as a nominee in a particular category, it doesn't mean you weren't nominated at all for that category, it just means you didn't receive quite enough nominations in that particular category to garner a final nomination.
