Looks decent, though its dissapointing it's not 2-Disc, but I was kind of prepared. It made less than half what BB did at the box-office (undeservedly so). Good to at least see an art review, featurette, and deleted scenes on there.

I'm also disappointed that Home on the Range is not a 2 Disc DVD.
I really thought Home on the Range was ok not that bad and not that good.
I will still get this DVD when it comes out since it's the last 2-D animation film.

I'll still buy it, but I must say I'm disapointed with the content, and that it will only be 1 disc. I bet we won't get a slipcover, either.

I'll probably get it since it was the last one, and so many people on here seemed to like it. It's too bad they didn't do a double set for the last 2-D film.

If I had known it was the last 2-D I would have gone to see it in the theatre...that was another marketing oportunity Disney missed the boat on. They could have done a big sentimental ad campaign with all the old 2-D features then played up that this was the last one. All well:(

It has not premiered here in Brazil yet, but I won't think twice before getting it. But the DVD sounds a bit disappointing... We didn't even get the "oficial" list of bonus features (we only had a few - all? - of the bonus features quoted in the text itself)!

"Backstage Disney" looks promissing. Let's hope it is kinda like the 'mature' section of the "Treasure Planet" DVD. And why the heck no audio commentary?!!
What an outrage, even cheapquels get 2-discs nowadays, but the last Disney animated classic does not.

I totay agree how even cheapquels come in 2 disc sets I am very dissapointed you would think that if it really is the last 2-D movie there would be tons of stuff to put on the DVD but I guess its wishful thinking. I will be buying thie movie to I thought it was cute and I loved the nephews . "Mabye them cows dont like your singing"

Also, check out those menus for a bonus short called A Dairy Tale: The Three Little Pigs - could this be one of the three Totally Twisted Fairy-Tale shorts that Disney produced in the 1990s (and were a precursor to the lopsided "Once Upon A Time" humor of Shrek)? Only time will tell, but this is an exciting possibility!

I had not thought about this, but it is an exciting possibility indeed! I've always been curious to see at least one of these shorts. Let's hope we are finally getting the chance to do so.

YEs I really hope so too.
The two cartoons produced in that series are something hilarious and different that mostly anything else the studio have done.
If this is that cartoon, then I hope we will have Redux Riding Hood as well soon!

I love the extreme flat artwork on the menus. It's almost as if they were making a statement with the flatness.... versus round 3-dimensional artwork in the popular CG movies.

This looks to be a very disappointing DVD release, but then, there are films more deserving of a 2-Disc release. With the heavy-hitting schedule of fall DVD releases, this one fails to excite me enough to make an immediate purchase. Even though it's released on my birthday, I may end up holding off on this one for a while.

I am with eveyone else in that I am dissappointed that this is only a single disc release. However, one could have guessed this to be the case with its income from the theatres. I loved the movie so I will be getting it no matter what (thankfully it has a "making of feature"). It just makes one think that if they can really stretch the features of Lion King 1 1/2 on two discs why could they not done it with this? Regardless, I am still looking foward to this release along with Aladdin and Mulan...

Well, I'd only want a 2-Disc set if they actually had enough to occupy two discs. Otherwise, it's just an unnecessary hassle of switching discs in the player. If you have enough for a 2-Disc set (i.e. SB), then awesome! If it's a TLK1.5 kinda deal, then booo! (It is funny to look at how we were upset with TLK1.5 for stretching, and then some are upset with Disney not stretching in this case. However, animated classics deserve it more than DTVs, which I think is the point).

Where is the "mature" section on the Treasure Planet DVD and what does it have in it?

Looking at the Lion King 1 1/2 (and presumably 2 being as some international releases are single disc without the virtual safari) I do think that a 2 disc set was required.

All those branching options on the Virtual Safari add up you know, the same with the options on "Who Wants to be King of the Jungle". There's actually a lot more content on that second disc than first appears.

Of course its all fluff. But I must admit I did rather enjoy the 1 1/2 virtual safari, despite hating the first.

The Lion King 1 ½ took up 5.77 GB on Disc 1 and 5.06 GB on Disc 2, so as is, that would have been too much for a single-disc release. With a bit of compression, or losing the DTS track, I'm sure it could have been a single-disc release, but if it makes no difference in price for us, I'm glad. Sure, both discs felt light, but in its defense, the games (well at least "Who Wants To Be King of the Jungle?") Virtual Safari on Lion King 1 ½ were about the most fun and certainly the most complex of the kiddie features that Disney's put out on DVD.

With regards to Home on the Range, there won't be a DTS track, and that could be the difference. Single-disc releases are a bit of a disappointment these days, but it's the content not the format that should call for praise. "Making-of featurette" sounds fluffy, but as it appears on the menu, "Backstage Disney" could offer more than just a little EPK.
