would you buy treasures w/out tins?

Hi Everyone,
I am thinking about buying the Costco set because otherwise I will never get the first Mickey in Living Color. Am I wondering if many people buy the sets without the tins, though, because I would want to sell the other 6 because I already own the ones I want except the Mickey in Living Color? What do you think?
Thanks!
Niki

I have 6 out of 11 of the Treasures right now, and I am anal and will shell out the money for the ones with the tins if need be. I just like everything to look the same in a collection. That's just me though.

On the surface I'd say no, but then again, I was able to get all of the original Treasures in Tins when they were first issued. Thus I have not been faced w/ a decision as to whther or not to purchase a MMiLC for $100+.

If you keep looking you will find a good deal. Recently I bought MMILC TIN on ebay for 50 bucks which is actually pretty cheap.

If you are just interested in the content I can give you MMILC R2 for 25 bucks. Or I will trade it for the Disneyland Set if you have it. It comes in a tin.

I got them tinless at Costco and I really didn't care if they come with tins.
But now I want them with the tins I guess the best way to get them with Tins is on E-Bay.
Look in the bright side at least you have the DVD if you get the box set.

I'd buy some MIA Treasures without tins, although I would prefer a second printing of the tins with it's proper contents, just to give it that collectable feeling.

Personally I would not because I love the collectibility of the tins. Usually when there is something available that you can find as a better edition I go for that. Maybe it is obsessive but my dvd collection is a hobby, much like a lot of others here.

Get a non-R1 of MMILC.

I'd buy the treasures without the tin. The tins take up too much room.

They look so "elite" on the shelf though.

Not when they are next to my Lion King CE dvd...

I can't find the shelve space to store the two I have.
My reason for collecting Disney dvd's is because I want to watch the movies. To get a pretty tin with them is a nice bonus but I would buy the dvd's anyway. However: now that I have two I will do my best to get all the other ones.

Just keep your eyes open on EBay. I just picked up a copy of MMILC Vol. 1 and Complete Goofy for $25 each, used but with tins.

New DVDs without tins have gone as low as $30 or so ...

I only have Wave 3. My tins are on the back shelf in a closet, wrapped up. I plan on buying the first 2 waves tin-less, and I prefer it that way.

Some of those eSeller's are so desperate to sell their item. I just saw a tinless MMIBW with this in the description:
Only 150000 Tins made! Only 10500 Tinless copies made! It's even more collectible and at a much more affordable price!

I need "Goofy" to complete my collection. Of course, I want the tin and the litograph, for collectible's sake and to match the other editions... Of course, the DVD is what really matters, but I want the complete package.
Well, I can only hope the current region 4 Treasures will sell well enough, so they may release "The Complete Goofy" here in Brazil.

hey jrbdmb,
where did you find such a steal? I don't care if a mickey in living color is used as long as everything if working. I'm beginning to wonder if I will ever find it at a decent price!

I have the 'Disney Ultimate Treasure Chest,' which includes all of Waves 1-2 without the tins.
I'm perfectly happy with it/them.
