In my area, Ventura County, CA, the county just north of Los Angeles, the Donald Duck Treasure is now already almost impossible to find. And not by today (Saturday). It was hard to find the 2nd day of its release! Did Disney seriously underestimate the number of copies it could sell?

Right now, just 4 or 5 days after their release, you can find a Mickey 2 tin if you want, but you might have to really look. The Frontlines one is very easy to find, and the Tomorrowland one is even easier. Some shops have only the Tomorrowland tin and nothing else! Believe me, the Tomorrowland tin is probably Treasures' biggest dud of all time! We'll be seeing it sitting there, lonely on the shelves for a long time to come.

But Donald, brother. It just ain't there!

165K for the most popular Disney character's first DVD Treasures edition is an insanely low amount, and like I've said before, expect demand to far outstrip supply on this puppy.

I'd bet they put out a low number on purpose. It creates interest in the next wave. Anyone that was on the fence about buying it without know much about the treasures set will be surprised it sold out so fast, and be more likely rush out to get the next wave. Also I'd bet they sold a lot more of those box sets because of people who wanted the mickey mouse dvd's that sold quick, so maybe they use it to boost sales of future box sets as well.

Well, in my area there are tons of all four sets. By tons I mean atleast 7 of each per store! And these are big seller stores too. I guess my region isn't a big disney place -- What a shame.

The first Disney store I went to had them all but the Donald set. They said they didn't get them in. Then next one I went to had all 4, but only one copy of each left and the tins were all dented. I ended up geting Donald at Best Buy.

As for Donald selling out... yeah, he sold out. Big time. At first it was just for the laughs and fun, but now I think he's only in it for the money. Maybe it's Daisy's constant nagging about wanting more stuff, who knows? All I know is that Duck is all about the money now. You did notice that his DVD set is only Volume One right? Sure, he's trying to milk you for more money on another set, possibly another after that! Well I hope he's happy now, Mr. MegaBills.

Maybe they'll change Wave 4 to include Donald II since he did so well. I wouldn't mind it instead of TLA.

I started watching Tomorrowland this morning and whether it is a hit or a miss, I am very glad it exists.

At the Costco I go to Doanld is sold out.
Tommorowland has only one left.
Mickey in Color Vol. 2 has 2 left.
On the front (war time) has only about 8 left.

So I guess everyone is crazy for Donald Duck!!!

Okay, so I hit Walmart today (for ROTK, natch) and they must have got more stock, because there was an entire wall of Disney Treasures, with tons of all the DVDs.

Even so, Donald was in the least numbers, followed by Tomorrowland (it only had one row to start with), along with absolutely TONS of Mickey and Front Lines. And beat this, they were on sale $2-off from opening day prices.

I was really amazed there would be a "secondary haul" like that, but Walmart never ceases to amaze.

Yeah, I can't believe how many i still see in the stores. I was really nervous about not finding any in there, or seeing if I did the right thing by ordering...which i did, since I got them, but still...looks like i would have been safe waiting too...

Me too, and I really think it has to do with off-season, and Disney not getting them out for Xmas 2003. If those had hit the middle of December, they would have been gone ASAP.

there are plenty in my area, I guess this just isn't a Disney city. Surprised though, and there I was so early in the morning rushing to get my copy. Oh well, it was totally worth it.
