If Disney sticks to its current Platinum annoucements, we know The Lion King should be going OOP in October 2005 (2 years after its release - as per the new Platinum avaliability schedule). I would guess the sequels will go OOP on the same day.
But why should be expect Disney to stick to this? They've never stuck to any other release pattern.
I would expect Alice to be going OOP in Q3 2004.
Personally I think Brother Bear may go OOP in 2004 to make way for a "more special" edition in 2005.

I would only assume it to be LK, Alice, possibly Brother Bear, and most likely.... Emperor's New Groove. making way for a re-release for the new sequel in next summer.

Luke posted in the news that each of the titles in the Lion King "Trilogy" will be going out of print in 2005. I already have the Lion King Platinum and Lion King 1 1/2, so I am fine for now with the out of print titles (I am not really interested in Lion King 2).

So surprise, surprise. Disney isn't even sticking to it's newly announced 2 year availability for Platinum titles.

Yup, I was thinking that The Lion King Trilogy was going OOP in 2005.
At least all three were 2 Disc DVD and all three were also great!!!
I love Lion King 1 1/2 more then Lion King 2: Simba's Pride.
I wonder if Lilo and Stitch, Mary Poppins and Pocahontas Gold Collection will be OOP soon.

Mary Poppins has been OOP for a little while now.

Disney's next "Disappearing Classics" include The Lion King, The Lion King 1½ and the upcoming August 31st release of The Lion King II: Simba's Pride Special Edition. Look for all three to go back into the vaults in January 2005.
Like we don't know that already!!!
Can't they give out a source where they found out that information.

While looking through another thread about the most anticipated releases, I began to think that Lilo and Stich and the Gold Collection of Pocahontas will most likely be put into the vault to make way for the Masterpiece editions. Anyone else think that this will happen?
