Donald in MathMagic Land?

Hi.
I have been trying to find a copy of Donald in MathMagic Land for my 3 year old nephew. (The one he currently has been used so much it is about to turn to dust!)
The Disney Online site tells me that it is out of production. After speaking to one of the cast members at a Disney Store, they suggested I come here.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Wow...a Disney Store employee referred you to THIS site?
As for the question at hand, I may be wrong but I think this is coming on one of the Wave 4 releases this fall. I'm sure someone else can correct me if this is erroneous.

Actually, this short was expected to be released along with Wave 4 of the treasures (in an assorted educational treasure) but has since been bumped for the True Life Adventures Treasure. As of now, the "Educational Shorts" Treasure is just speculation and may arrive in Wave Five. Hope this helps...

Will it be on any of the Donald Treasures?

It is currently available on DVD in Japan, pretty cheaply.

Its also available in the UK in vol 3 of the fables series, they are listed under the international section of this site. It just depends how easy it is for you to get it.

I have the exact VHS video as seen directly above in Luke's post, in brand new condition and willing to sell/trade if interested.
Send me a p.m. or email at Dooks21[at]Hotmail.com (substitute for @) and I'd be open to discuss details, etc.

I've never seen it and have always wondered what it is about.

Are you kidding? Ludwig von Drake ought to know all about this.
Well, it's about mathematics in the broader sense. DD is drawn into a strange land where a voice tells him about maths - starting with some ancient Greeks and going on to tell how maths can describe certain phenomena of nature; architecture, music, modern science. Entertaining and at times quite beautiful. Considerably longer than the typical ~7 min "short". I've forgotten the exact running time, but I think it's about 25 minutes.

I remeber seeing it in Blockbuster growing up but I really don't like math so I never got it. It is still probabbly interesting to watch.

It is not a short, so why should it be released in the Cronological Donald serie?

Well, technically, neither was Mickey's Christmas Carol, Prince and the Pauper, Sorceror's Apprentice, or Mickey and the Beanstalk, but these were all released on Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol. 2. A precedence has been set.

P.S. Given its date, it doesn't seem likely that it would be released on the Chronological Donald, Vol. 2. Perhaps 3 (or 4)?

Exactly... I'd expect it on vol 4 as it was from 1955 (and there's plenty of Duck shorts to still get through!)

It is certainly shorter than any feature-length movie. Does that make it a short?

In Disney's lexicon, there are feature films (generally longer than an hour), featurettes (shorter than an hour but longer than shorts), and shorts (about ten minutes or less). There are, however, exceptions. Saludos Amigos is considered a feature film, though lasting less than an hour.

Most of the classic shorts are roughly ~7 minutes or from a bit over five to about ten. A large percentage, or even most, of the "shorts" from 1957 and later are longer than what I consider the "classic short". Some of them are 12-15 minutes and some longer. Ben & Me (1953) also belongs to this group.

No, it was not from 1955, it´s from 1959.

According to the Academy Awards it wasn't a short subject cartoon, but a short subject documentary, nominated in 1959.
