In this one I want you to chose the 15th Platinum. (*Note- they are not currently planning a 15th one that I know of, but if they were...) What would be your choice for the 15th one. Which title do you think is worthy of the Platinum title, but has been over looked.

If I have not listed the one you chose Please specify.

For me, it would have to be between Alice in Wonderland and Huchback. I think Tarzan, Lilo, and Planet, are all good films, but would rather be worthy of a collectors edition. Actually, the same might be true for Hunchback, but I wonder if it were Platinum, if close minded people might be willing to give this great film a chance.

Alice in Wonderland. Love that film.

I guess Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, although I'm totally happy with the disc out there. From the others, Dumbo already has pretty good DVD treatment, but it could look a lot better than it does. Maybe Hercules.

Hunchback - simply because it's a landmark Disney film where that attempted to rise the boundries of what could be called a Disney film.

(And while this arguably failed - I'm pleased that Disney are continuing to expand the definition of a "Disney" films with releases like Emperor's New Groove and Atlantis).

Out of those, I would go with "The Many Adventures of Pooh". I would like to see a re-release of this, with good features. I don't know why, but i'd just like to see it!

i would love to see alice in wonderland in that collection.

Phillio, what gives? No Robin Hood or Fox in the Hound??? I know i see "other", but that's no fun. I'll vote for the Sword in the Stone, which is a top 5 a.c. for me.

Well, I chose Winnie the Pooh (d'uh!), but there are quite a few I'd like to see platinum editions for.

Hunchback really deserves one though. I've seen that 'Art of...' book, and the amount of effort that went into those backgrounds in amazing. Really like that one.

The Black Cauldron has always been a fave of mine, and the fact that there was so much internal dissent at Disney at the time of making would make for some really interesting documentaries and/or commentaries.

Sorry Doug, Fox and the Hound escaped my mind. I purposefully didn't put Robin Hood though. I would be interested to see if anyone decides to put that as their favorite. I guess I could add it, but I think I will let them notify the board with their reasons. (Not to be mean, but...) I would just like to hear why they think it should be platinum. Well everytime I, or someone else tinkers with a poll, it seems to get messed up, otherwise I would add Fox and the Hound, which IMO deserves a place on that list above a few others, but I was trying to be accomidationg to many different types of people who might chose different things.

I think TFATH would make a nice platinum, it seems the only title to fit it, if that makes any sense. I see different movies getting different titles, for instance:
Hunchback, Black Cauldron, Tarzan, Treasure Planet all fall under the title of "Collectors Edition" (Although I chose Hunchback for Platinum as it needed a boost)
Alice in Wonderland on second thought might make a better platinum.
Mulan, Pochahontas, Winnie the Pooh, would be special edtion

I think I'm starting to confuse myself. Oh well nice to hear everyone's opinions.

I voted for Alice, of course, but I'd also love to see Platinum Editions (or at least 2-discs sets of) Winnie the Pooh and Hunchback. All three films are my top 3 favorite Disney movies, respectively.

Although I'd love to see them all go Platinum ("Black Cauldron" would be a incredible CE), I picked "Pocahontas". I think it is such and underrated gem - it's one of Disney's most adult films, and altough it's a musical and has "fluffy" moments like its precedents, it also has a lot of dark moments, and it also showed people that Disney could make a film with no happy-ending.
Yeah, the movie had a nice popularity when it was release, but many people considered it a failure because 'it didn't gross as much as "The Lion King"! GRUNF!

That's why I think "Pocahontas" should be released as a Platinum edition - but so should be "Hunchback", "Dumbo", "Caballeros"...

Oh yeah, that's one I forgot! Not Platinum, but I think Cabelleros and Amigos should be put together in a CE as I hear was done with the LD. More on this in a future post that is sure to make a few people, well let's say less than happy... Mwa ha ha ha ha...

i picked black cauldron since that's the only film that so obscure enought that not much is known how many deleted scenes!!!!! 2 versions of the film, original theatrical and the special edition (all the deleted scenes back in the film)

I find it unlikely that Winnie The Pooh would be considered for a Platinum release - as it is, after all just a collection of previously released shorts (or featurettes if you prefer).

I know Disney class this as one of their Animated Classics - but in my opinion I don't think that they should - it does seem to be cheating!

I know it is unlikely it will be given deluxe treatment (I'm quite happy with the disc I have actually), but I can dream can't I?

And yeah it is a collection of shorts - but so are Saludos Amigos, Fun and Fancy Free, Three Caballeros, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad, Meody Time and Make Mine Music. And if I'm not mistaken, some of those were made up of concepts from other projects.

Mind you, none of those have been given deluxe treatment either, while others have had the crap butchered out of them.

Ok, I don't have a point.

Yeah well, the main issue is the Pooh shorts had all been previously released, so apart from some linking animation and bookends the film really is second-hand.

All of the other films consisted of unseen new footage, even if the creation of the films were the results of some behind-the-scenes dramas and crisis.

If the long awaited Dreamworks Wallace and Gromit film ended up being nothing more than Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave strung together I'm sure most people would complain - and very, very few would regard it as a "movie".

However if it consisted of three unseen shorts "The Great Cheese Robbery", "Motorway Madness" and "Duck and Mother" nobody would complain.

I just couldn't decide between Alice In Wonderland or The Hunchback of Notre Dame, so I picked Pocahontas.
