Here, I want to know what you want the next (March 2004) Platinum to be, not including Aladdin which will undoubtedly be the fall, october, platinum. THIS IS NOT what you THINK it will be, but what you WANT it to be.

My choice is The Little Mermaid, I already have the barebones, but want the Platinum, ASAP

(*Note- I included an "other" option. While I think it should be among the remaining 6 original titles, if you would like to see one of the new titles, please specify)

Even though I would luike The Rescuers, I think its too soon. It just got released.

I haven't seen Cinderalla in years, and don't own the VHS, plus I can't wait for the DVD - so . . . I voted for Bambi. LOL, just j/k - I voted for Cindy.

Little Mermaid or Jungle Book would be great, but it will probably be Bambi or Cinderella, I would think.

I still think Peter Pan or Pinocchio will slip in, almost unnoticed, due to their current international re-releases (just like Sleeping Beauty is slipping in almost unnoticed - not Platinum branded - this September on the strength of it's recent international releases)

Out of those, I would most want it to be Bambi. It would, in my eyes, be the biggest and best move for them, since it is one of the best (opinion) and has not been released on DVD, just like Cinderella!...

I'd love Cinderella or Bambi... but since Pinocchio is premering in Mexioc and Latiamerica this summer I don't know what to expect, on one hand this could mean the wooden boy will get his platinum release later on the Platinum cycle... but could also mean that it'll get the march 2004 slor

I want Bambi!

I want them all of course, and Little Mermaid is my fave out of those, but I went with Cinderella because it is one that I don't have on any format at the moment (tape or DVD).

I would choose Lady and the Tramp because it's one of my favorites and I lost my barebones version. However, I would be happy with getting either Cinderella or Bambi because I have not seen those movies in years.

Cinderella BY FAR. That film can't get to DVD soon enough for me and I hope I don't have to wait too long to own it as it's one of my all time favorite films let alone Disney films.

I picked 'The Little Mermaid" because it's my favorite Disney film ever (along with "Beauty and the Beast"). Although I already have the bare-bones edition, I can't wait for a full-loaded set!

But I'll be very happy with any of the films they decide do release this March (well, I won't be that happy if they decide to release Peter Pan, because I already have two versions of the film: the Limited Issue DVD, and the 2-disc French collector's edition).

My choice would have been Cindrella, but I have seen it a few times recently. Just got rid of my VHS so I am not w/o that on either format, but I really want Little Mermaid, for the features. I have been listening to my Music behind the Magic, and I am just getting so excited about posible features and such that could be on Aladdin or Mermaid. Beauty and the Beast is probably the least listen to of the three movie soundtracks. It is so cool to see how songs we all know were planned differently. Fathoms, TLM's opening song, was meant to be much longer, Part of your world reprise, had more heart emotion and reality about it. Howere, with the original reprise, I don't know that we would have gotten the famous splash at "...WORLD". Still the longer fathoms would be interesting. The thing about Mermaid, is that if they wanted to make it "Special" like with BATB and TLK, they couldn't with the scapped song "Silence is Golen" as it is an alternative ending to "Poor unfortunate Souls", and to do the extended/original "Fathoms" the whole opening would have to be reanimated, and while it wouldn't bother me, aslong as the original was included on the disc, as we know it would be, so many people, including alot on this board would be angry, still it is interesting to see how things would've/could've been. Personally if it were up to me, I would animate the whole other, completely different version of Aladdin, that was originally planned, just for a super delux collector's edtion, and I would have another version with, IMO is the real ending, with Arabian Night's reprise, and if it would fit, where the Genie is the story teller. I am sorry, but nobody can convince me that Al and Jas were not married at the end of the first, because they were. Am I wrong? Was I the only one shocked when the second one came out and we were suppose to believe that they weren't!?!

Any way I guess I am rambling, but I am getting excited about the platinum releases of Aladdin and Mermaid, and hope they are the best yet, or the extreme excitedness and happy feeling of anticipation could turn ugly .....

Oh and by the way, I still think Bambi and Cinderella will make their debuts in 2005. Well whether it is next year(2004) or the year after(2005), I think it is a pretty safe bet that Bambi will be a spring release.

I think we're going to hold our bare-bones edition of "Little Mermaid" for some time, perhaps forever (well, I would never get rid of mine, anyway).
Since Disney will blow up the film to release it in IMAX, I'm afraid they are going to do some subtle editions, just like with "The Lion King". It will be no surprise if they try to make up the infamous "priest scene" (and we all know this is bullshit) and the scene where Ariel is shown naked.

Well I've never heard of the naked scene, but I did witness the priest scene, and that is not just some misinterpretation. I noticed this one day watching it with a girlfriend and this was before I knew about it.

The same with Aladdin, I was in the Kitchen one day listening to the TV in the Living room and I heard the infamous line.

I also heard the one in Roger Rabbit, although this was after I read about it. I poped in the disc just to see if it were true. Personallt, I feel, that if the original is available to us, as it will be, on the same disc, and they had something new to add, to make it "better" or "special" I say go for it. Even though I am disturbed by the preacher scene, I will be looking for it, on the feature label "Original theatrical Release" and if it is not there, I will be displeased, after all, it's not like the Rescuers where there was an actual picture of a bare breasted woman.

Well, this is just the scene where Ariel is transformed into a human - but since the film is going to be enlarged a loooot, maybe they'll try to "make up" the scene a little. You know, trying to hide some things that should not appear!
