I stil haven't got around to seeing the first one yet though. I know I have (surprisingly) enjoyed the Sonic films. Perhaps these are in the same vein.

Well, regardless of the reviewers were lukewarm to it and how it wasn`t a great work of art, it still was enjoyable for what it was. And if you like a popcorn flick and pure fluff, Super Mario Bros Movie certainly is a fun, unpretentious trifle. Personally, I liked it better than the Sonic movies.
