Animated-News has a great article on the special screening of "On The Front Lines", in which Dave Bossert (great artist and director of the DVD set) confirmed that the new wave will be coming this December and it will contain: Mickey Mouse In Black And White Vol. 2, The True-Life Adventures series, a Pluto set and The Mickey Mouse Club.

Cool! Sounds quite interesting. What will the True Life Adventures DVD be about, or what kind of stuff will be on that?

Well, I think the True-Life Adventures are going to be the featurettes... The features shall be released each on its own disc (I just wonder when).

This may be a minority opinon here, but as a whole, this wave sounds the least exciting out of the 4 so far to me. I will reserve my judgement til I see more reviews, but not sure about the real life one.

What's the True-Life Adventures series? And I wonder what will be on the MM club DVD.

I've posted this on a couple of threads on this forum, but I just can't get excited at all about Mickey Mouse Club as Treasure set - I'll be passing that one by, congratulations those of you who were waiting and hoping for it.
The other 3 however I am very excited about!! Especialy True Life Adventures; I'm most curious about what the content will be. If it hadn't been for the Rescuers DVD I bought, I wouldn't even be aware that there were shorter TLA's, I had only been aware of the feature lenght ones. How many of the featurettes were there, and what is the threshold/difference in time length between feature and featurette?
Pluto and Mickey B&W II will both be awesome!

What's True Life Adventures?

What's True Life Adventures?
The True Life Adventures are some of the Adventureland segments from Disneyland. They involve stories of animals from all of the world.
I agree that this is probabbly my least favorite wave so far. Though I will be very happy to finally be able to see the Mickey Mouse Club.
Also if there is any truth in this are you going to change the upcomming releases page Luke?

No that is not correct.
True Life Adventures was not made for the television series Disneyland/Adventureland!
It´s a separate series of nature films (like the feaurefilms in the same series) which the studio began to produce in the late 40´s.
There are seven in the old featurette-series and some fewer in a new series (which I don´t think will be included on these discs). The latter was indeed only shown on TV.
The original episodes in the series was each around 30 minutes long.

Like many others have said, this wave is probably my least favorite. I will most likely only pick up Mickey Mouse in Black and White II if I can get a hold of the first one soon (along with some of the older treasures). I am just hoping for a Silly Symphonies II to come out in Wave 5 then I will be really happy.

This wave looks like the worst of all four. The only sets I plan to buy are the Pluto and Mickey in B&W II DVDs. The other two I don't think I have much, if any, interest in.
What I want to know is, where's a second Donald or Silly Symphonies set? Or, for that matter, the "Assortment and Educational Set"?

I'll probably buy all (as long as they're not censored). Any footage involving the REAL Disney (ie not Eisner's Disney II) is a treasure. Even if it sucks.

Great to see the True-Life Adventures finally being planned for release. They totally deserve priority, since they basically invented the nature documentary. Of course, I'm happy about the other 3 as well, particularly the MMC.
Glad it's December too.

Anyone noticed that he mentioned the possibility of Song of the South seeing the light of day? They should make a treasure for it.

Wow - what's with all the hatin' for Wave 4? Guess some people are just too hard to please...
I, for one, am definitely looking forward to this next wave. There's always been a few titles that I didn't care to get -
Disneyland,
Davy Crockett,
Tomorrowland - and I'm interested in all but the
Mickey Mouse Club for this wave. I'm also wondering what exactly the
True-Life Adventures set is gonna have on it... And for those who want to know a bit about the TLAs and their various home video releases, go
here.
The six features could
probably be put on two discs - but at 3 to a disc, and 70 minutes each, that'd be about 210 minutes on each disc... a bit of a stretch, I think. Maybe they'll mix the features and the shorts together, and release them in volumes. *shrug*
I'm definitely excited about the Pluto release. Pluto had some of the
funniest shorts - I love watching them as a kid. And of course, the MMBW2 is a must for completist's sake.

If the True Life were not from Disnleyland then what were the animal shows that were "advertised" in the first episode of disneyland?
It's too bad that the assorted treasures will not be comming out this year. I was really looking foward to it.

True Life Adventures,
Mickey Mouse in Black and White: Volume 2,
Pluto collection
Mickey Mouse Club collection
This December I hope it won't be delay like Wave 3.
I wish that the Short Sequence set could be made of:
Animated Shorts Uncut!
Featuring:
Saludos Amigos
The Three Caballeros
Make Mine Music
Fun and Fancy Free
Melody Time
Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad
Other shorts
I really hope The song of the south could be a Treasure release!!!

I'm excited for these treasures. I'm really looking forward to watching these True Life Adventures since they're very memorable. I remember watching many of these when I was younger, and they were great! It's amazing how Disney managed to educate and entertain at the same time. He was a master at it. As for MMC, I'm not interested, and I don't understand what they will include since there are some 60 episodes.
Here's my priority list:
1. Complete Pluto
2. True Life Adventures
3. Mickey Mouse in Black & White 2
4. MMC
