They are making another Ice Age movie.
[Ray DeLaurentis] is currently developing an animated series based on a New York Times best-selling children’s book and writing streaming movies for 20th Century Studios/Disney+. The feature projects include the next installment in the “Ice Age” franchise, the next installment in the “Rio” franchise and an animated feature version of the “Night at the Museum” movie franchise for 21 Laps Entertainment and Disney+.

I assumed there would be another eventually. This thing's sort of like Swan Princess--it'll never really be over.

This has always been a massive franchise outside of the US. And nostalgia could help propel it to over a billion. A Shrek 5 lite I guess.

I wonder which animation studio will be behind Ice Age 6.

It will most likely be outsourced to Bardel Entertainment.

I don’t think so, since that was done for streaming and on the cheap given the original cast never came back for that.

It would have to be either Locksmith, DNEG, RenderMan, or ILM animating it after the strong reception Scrat Tales got.

Sotiris, do we have any info on which studio will be animating Boiling Point? I am looking forward to the film, but feel a twinge of sadness that it's not being made by Blue Sky.

Bardel Entertainment which also animated the previous entry in the franchise after Blue Sky shut down.

Hmm ... I haven't watched the previous film, but the impression I formed from various online comments was that the animation was hugely subpar, and nowhere comparable to Blue Sky's craft. :-(

If the above is true, I hope Bardel ups their game.
