For the longest time, it was Cinderella's sadness after her dress got destroyed that I found emotional, even though it's not like I ever cried during the movie. Snow White's sadness after being told her stepmother wants her dead and she must fend for herself in the woods would be traumatic in real life, but I feel more like Snow is a bit of a silly ninny being so scared of the things she sees in the forest that aren't really there and falling to cry about it. I still think both movie's sequences are excellent, though.

I would never call Snow White a silly ninny! Remember she’s the youngest Princess. Isn’t she supposed to be only 14 or 15? I can’t imagine fleeing through a dark forest after being told your stepmother wants to have you killed! When I was younger I would swear Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers was in my closet or under my bed wanting to gut me like a fish after having a nightmare after seeing one of their films, so I can certainly imagine Snow White’s absolute terror being alone in a dark, unfamiliar German woods away from the castle I knew so well...

Having said that, Cinderella’s absolute devastation after Anastasia and Drizella physically attack her (Anastasia even pulls the lovely bow off her hair!) and destroy her beautiful gown that she was going to wear to the royal ball is so heartbreaking to me.

Snow White’s terror was actually more in her mind as the Walt Disney artists so brilliantly portrayed, but poor Cinderella was the sobbing victim of an actual physical and verbal assault by her stepsisters and cruel stepmother who actually instigated it and did nothing to stop it.

Therefore, I voted for Cinderella’s experience as the more emotional and heartbreaking for me.

But yeah, I love both sequences.

Haha well, so we disagree on what to call Snow White. But yes, you are right about how young and terrified Snow White was, carolinakid. Actually all you said was well said and I agree with the rest.

While Snows forest scene is easily scary, as someone she trusted told her he was about to kill her, she understandably gets extremely anxious and fears about everything trying to kill her... but Cinderella wins this round. The dress scene is way more important to the story and who she is as a character, and its emotionally more impactful. She worked extra hard to earn her approval to go to the ball, at the end forgot the time to create her own dress, only for the rats having it already prepared for her, too good to be true for Cindy. And seconds before heading to the ball her stepsisters ruined it all for her and Tremaine acts as if nothing happened and heads off without her. This is such a big slap in her face. The one thing she was looking forward to in the moment got taken by her, and after crying in the garden, she STILL has a bit hope for miracles. This is the most impactful scene and an Important lesson, that u gotta work hard for ur goals and if it seems that ur opportunities got taken from u, u still have to be delusional and trust in the process.

Thats something I learned a few years ago in highschool. My teachers told me i wouldnt be able to move to the next class because all my Grades were shitty (which they were actually :eye: ). I needed 3 classes with at least a B+ and one was left. I took my exam that would define 40% of my final grade and i totally screwed up as i didnt even finish half of it, i took way too long. Technically i already lost and I cried and prayed  everyday for like 2 months that i will pass the class and i got extremely active and raised my Hand to basically all the time the teacher asked us something. After a few weeks I asked him if I would pass and he told me hes not sure as i started getting active too late, but if my exam would be good, theres a chance. Again i prayed everyday to pass and tried my best and after the 2 months passed, i got my exam back and I got an A-.... :o   :kermit:
I was Extremely happy and i passed :check: and this was all through hard work, believe in myself and god and praying praying praying. And things like that prove to me that god is real because there was no way that my exam would turn out that good as i didnt even finish 3/4 of it.

I guess thats "A Cinderella story" movie starring the Disneynerd. That would destroy the Box office and expect to make over 2Billion dollars globally :)

That being said, Cinderella will forever be one of my fav protagonists ever and will go down in history as one of the greatest role models in history. :float:

Sorry to Spam here but thats only one of like 3 against the odds and strong god belief stories of mine

Both of them have a similar story but Snow white's more dramatic in my opinion. She realized that her stepmother tried to kill her and she had to left her home behind. She had hallucinations in the forest and when she couldn't stand it more then she realized that it was not so scary as she though and then she starts her new life with positivism. She had to start again withou magic, only having her attitude and that's beautiful!
Cinderella's stepmother bullied her but more psychologically. She was jelaous about her too but she never tried to kill her as the queen did with Snow white (two times in the film).

Both are very sympathetic, that's for sure. Snow White's a kid, who just found out her stepmother wants her dead, she's all alone in the forest, her fears come to life in a pretty horrific sequence. What I do like is her attitude afterwards, where she's all optimistic and smiling, determined to survive a traumatic experience.

On the other hand, Cinderella has lived with her stepfamily, who had abused her since the death of her father. She has glimmer of hope of escaping her life for a few hours, by going to the ball, and the same stepfamily destroys that hope for her. I'm sure we've all been there at some point in our lives - being all too excited for something, when we find about it, and we hope, dream and work to achieve it. And then, when we're so close to it, the opportunity just vanishes, and we're left feeling sad and disappointed. I've been there so many times. And that's why I think Cinderella's story is so relatable - because we've all experienced that.

I'm going to go with Cinderella, in this case.

Cinderella`s crying scene is more heartbreaking as a whole. Mainly because due to having witnessed how downright callous and malicious the two stepsisters were by tearing down her dress. And also due to how the mice worked hard to make the dress. And also due to how the movie established Cinderella`s relationship to her stepfamily and their abuse. And why she`s yearning for a better life. I`m not saying that Snow White`s breakdown isn`t harrowing at all, but the difference is that the movie never showed any interaction between Snow White and her stepmother. Nor is there any indication that Snow White was yearning for a better life, besides wishing for her prince. Therefore Snow White`s breakdown is less harrowing. Therefore the crying scene is less impacting, whereas with Cinderella we were actually seeing the abuse. So it makes it more harrowing.
