Disney did not replace any character

People hate on the Stitch! anime because of Lilo being replaced, but she hardly wasn't, they acknowledged her existence in the English dub of the first episode, plus she returns as an adult in a Season 3 episode.

People also hate on Palace Pets because they think the Palace Pets replaced the original pets and animal companions of the Disney Princesses, they did not, they acknowledged the original pets and animal companions' existences such as the Palace Pets books

Are all of that enough to save the Stitch! anime and Palace Pets from being hated?

I think people were upset about Lilo because the Lilo & Stitch franchise is exactly that. Lilo AND Stitch. not just Stitch. Lilo fans were insulted because the dynamic has always been a pair and she was cut out of two animation. The Japanese one and the Chinese one (maybe that is not called an anime though so animation is the term I will use). It's like doing Lady and the Tramp but only centering on Tramp's adventures in new spinoff shows.

I think having adult Lilo cameo was more throwing a bone to acknowledge her existence but I don't think American Disney would appreciate it because it ages the character and Disney characters are supposed to be timeless and never age. Stitch will always look the same and Lilo will always look the same and be a child. I think we only saw adult Lilo because it was a decision set in Japan for the anime and didn't influence Lilo's portrayal in America.

As for the palace pets, that was before my time so I am not familiar with them. But those designs are not great imo.
