I dont think there was a thread for that and as Disney has so many aiconic and Underrated love songs it would be really fun to rank them imo.

You can include everything from cheapquels WDAS, Live action etc

One thing I'm appreciating seeing all these songs together like this is just how varied and diverse the roster of love songs is within the Disney canon. "Someday My Prince Will Come" has such a different tone from "(I Won't Say) I'm in Love" or "Kiss the Girl."

Anyways, The Princess and the Frog's songs will inevitably find themselves at the bottom of any ranking except perhaps in cases where it is competing with Wish.

"Love Is an Open Door" is a fake-out love song, but I'm including it anyway. I don't agree with PatchOfBlue on TP&TF at all, but "Ma Belle Evangeline" was a mess, the worst in the movie. Newman made his disdain for doing a princess musical pretty obvious with that one. "Almost There" and "Down in New Orleans" are both pretty good though, so it's not the entire soundtrack. I know it's Gilbert Gotfried, but I also like "Forget About Love" from The Return of Jafar, you'd think it would make my ears bleed. I love Liz Callaway's voice.

Not going to bother with the in-film versions of songs from the remakes, I only did the originals or End Credits songs. I actually like the version of "Once Upon a Dream" on the Legacy Collection's second disc with Bill Lee a bit more than the in-film version. I'm conflicted on whether "Colors of the Wind" belongs here, its lyrics aren't exactly romantic per se, but it ends with the characters kissing, so... Its function feels romantic if nothing else.

Is there a difference between an 'I Want' song where the character wishes for love vs. a proper Love song?

Well not really but at least we can narrow them down to just love songs as half of the "I want" songs are more about self discovery rather than love

And I guess we can include non romantic relationship love songs too like "Youll be in my Heart" etc as they are listed too in Disney love song tracklists (would be above BatB song but im too lazy to change my ranking now)

If we would include non Disney animated stuff, Thumbelinas "Let me be your Wings" is one of my fav Love songs ever! And might challenge A whole New Worlds #2 position

I agree with u. Its refreshing that Love songs dont have to be the clichee slow calm ballad but also more powerful or energetic, i really like all those contrasts in the disney catalogue (dont get me wrong with the stereotypical love songs as I appreciate them too, i mean So close is literally #1 lol)

Depends on the lyrics. I don't think POYW is about romance, but the reprise is, for example. Both Snow White's and Aurora's songs are about romance to me, too.

The more I think of it, I'm not sure if I should've included "Love Is a Song," since I think it's more about love in a general sense, not really romantic love. But I forgot "I Bring You a Song" and the Enchanted songs, so it balances out.
