While I find all 3 ok, its weaknesses are that the series has way too many fillers and cant be canon with Ursula appearing and more, the sequel just being ab Uno reverse of the original and the prequels Villain and conflict being kinda weak, but I love its Songs and Flounders more vibrant personality here....which speaks against his frightened nature.
So if i had to choose I would go with the sequel, repetitive formula, but atleast the stakes are higher than the other 2. But prequel has way better Animation than DTV

My initial thought was to answer Ariel’s Beginning, since it has better animation and lots of screen time for the sisters. But I think the series has too many strong episodes that would actually edge out either of the movies… so the series!

I'll admit the sequel has some songs I like, but I find its warping of Ariel's character unforgivable and most of its plotting messy. The prequel has fewer highs but also fewer lows, and is mostly inoffensive. I've only seen about half the episodes for the show (and not in like ten years), but from what I remember there are a few inoffensive episodes mixed in with some really nice finds. I think my favorites are the one where she and Triton save Hans Christian Andersen's submarine and the one where she uses the human boot to defeat The Great Manta.

I watched the show all the time when I was a kid, but I haven't seen it in so long. I always enjoyed it, though, and it added to my love of Ariel and the original film. But I voted for Return to the Sea; it's my favorite cheapquel. I've seen it much more recently than the show.

The series is best between these. Between the DTV films, I think Ariel's Beginning is better, but I do end up pulling out Return to the Sea more often just because Pat Carroll is in it. I do wish they'd put the TV series on Blu-ray, but I'm less hopeful about it happening now the Disney Movie Club is history. Still, anything is possible.

I love all The Little Mermaid films but I have to say that I enjoy more the tv show because She’s a mermaid all the time. I think that it was a great choice to explore more about Atlantica and Ariel's universe. It might be not well drawn but I love it anyway

The TV Series, without question. I even love the series more now as an adult than I did as a child, cause I realize how enchanting and mesmerizing it was. The cheapquels does have their moments, but they are hampered by the overall lower standards given to non-Theatrical properties.

Ariel's Beginning could have been great if it managed to capture the same feeling of the TV show, that Atlantica was a fun place you wanted to live in and have adventures with the characters, instead of depicting a dystopia where King Triton is a tyrant locking people up even for accidentally playing music.
While the TV show isn't perfect, there's just something cozy about it, maybe it's just nostalgia, I don't even mind some of the inconsistencies like Sebastian already knowing about Ariel's treasures or Ariel already going to Ursula's lair.
