Many say that Disney isn’t good with most of their content these days such as the live action Disney remakes, and most of the late 2010's-early 2020's Disney Animation and Marvel movies ever since after John Lasseter left for controversial reasons, but however, people complaining about whenever Disney does new content has been a thing way before 2018 such as these for example.
This also includes the Disney Channel teen sitcoms from the mid/late 2000's-early 2010's, but I couldn't get a good single image of those.

Re: People complaining about new Disney content before 2018
Well, the truth is that people in general have always complained about some aspects about Disney. And even before 2018. That`s mostly how the world works, as people not only have a tendency to complain, but to forget that there were always aspects of the past to rant about. But each period has their own aspect to whine about. At first, people whined about the cheapquels. Later on, people whined about the Disney Channel franchise. Nowadays, people are ranting about the remakes. But even back in the day, people were whining about the Princess Franchise and the overexposure of Frozen. During the Renaissance, people were ranting about how the formula became too derivative and homogenous. And the post-Renaissance features were accused for not being good enough. People always complain, regardless.

How about for the spin-offs?DisneyFan09 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 2:47 pm Well, the truth is that people in general have always complained about some aspects about Disney. And even before 2018. The spin-offs people did complained about were the Stitch! anime and Palace Pets, which are two I mentioned above, do you remember what I just said at all?DisneyFan09 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 4:52 pmWell, truth to be told, I haven`t seen so many complains about them, really. But that`s just me, though. I could be wrong.
(also pretty much people still hate on the Stitch! anime and presumably the Palace Pets to this day)

Re: People complaining about new Disney content before 2018
There is no much difference between the movies made before 2018 and the movies that are beeing made today.
These days they are only making bad movies for theaters and cheap content for Disney+. Using the same characters (Peter pan, Lady and the Tramp, Snow White, Lilo and stitch) to make movies and other characters to make tv shows for Disney+ (Ariel, Winnie, Alice, Mickey...). At least before 2018 we had great movies on theaters with new stories like Frozen, Big Hero 6, Wreck It ralph.... Right now all what they make are movies that are most worried about represent other cultures o characters with some specific characteristics than telling a good story.
I know that they have to use their old characters for making money but honestly I prefeer when they made sequels direct to video because we all knew that they were not great movies but at least it was a chance to see the characters that we love again and childrends loved it. They were low budget so it was not a risk for the company and they used the rest of the money on making good movies.
Same with Marvel. The phase one was good but after that they made so much content that they have stopped to think about what to do because the quality was poor.
