How would you rank the Winnie the Pooh movies?

For me....

Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree
and
Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day
are about equal in my ranking.

I love the songs in Honey Tree and the Heffalumps and Woozles sequence in Blustery Day.

Honey Tree I first saw with the original release of The Ugly Dachshund in 1966.

Blustery Day I saw with the original release of The Horse in the Grey Flannel Suit in 1968.

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too comes next. I saw it with the original release of The Island at the Top of the World in 1974.

Winnie the Pooh and A Day for Eeyore comes next with a noticeable decline in the quality of animation. I first saw it with a rerelease of The Sword in the Stone in 1983.

I never saw the 2011 Winnie the Pooh feature as I didn’t care for the animation at all. I have it on DVD and I’m sure I’ll get around to watching it someday.

That's because it was animated by Rick Reinert Productions for Disney, not by Disney Animation.

Do you like watching the shorts in their original form or do you watch them together as The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh?

I first saw The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in 1977 on a double bill with The Littlest Horse Thieves.

I only watch Many Adventures which I own on DVD. I don’t have the individual shorts on home video. Day for Eeyore is a bonus feature on the DVD so I watch it usually first when I screen Many Adventures because I like it least.

I think you are so knowledgeable in this area so I ask you, is there anything significantly missing from the shorts (except the credits, etc) that isn’t in Many Adventures? Just curious as to whether it’s worth it to purchase the shorts.... assuming they’re available as shorts on DVD. Thanks !

I don't think there's anything missing, but I noticed there are different shots of Pooh (the doll) winking at the end of the first short (the curtains move here while in the film they don't):

In Blustery Day, the shot of Piglet saying "and Piglet too" is different since the book closed instead of turning to the next chapter like in the movie:

I can see that Blustery Day was released as a bonus feature on the 2006 DVD release of Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin. Not sure about the first short though.

I absolutely would post here more often if we were discussing classic or what I like to call Walt era Disney.

It’s what I enjoy and frankly, what I know best and am most interested in.

But again thanks for these ranking threads.

I also enjoy discussing Disneyland and Walt Disney World but I get the impression (I could be wrong) that most guys here don’t visit the parks very often. Whether that’s due to distance or budget or lack of interest, I would be curious to learn....

For me it's due to distance. I've been to Disneyland Paris a few times, and while I've been to the US, there are so many places to visit that the parks don't seem like a priority to me. I also have a friend that told me that the US parks have gone downhill and if I want to visit a park then I should go to Japan since it's the best one.

Yes, they have especially Walt Disney World.

Disneyland Paris and ESPECIALLY Tokyo Disneyland are on my bucket list.
