Recently i purchased the Lion King DVD and I've watched the special edition movie, and the new song sux balls and doesn't really fit in with the movie. I've heard that on the DVD that there is a special edition version and one without the song, but I can't seem to find it anywhere!

Can anyone help me here?
BTW this is the R4 version (Australia)

There's a Setup Menu, which allows you to select a version of the movie and a sound mix.

the Original Theatrical release however is not the original from 1994, it is the reanimated version released for IMax back in 2002. It's kind of upsetting

"Original Theatrical," although it is the restored version for the IMAX release, means that (except for the restored animation and sound) it is the film you saw in theaters or the original VHS.

mmm.. reading this thread, made me think of the Platinum line as whole so far.. The Beuty and the Beast dvd is not the original theatrical its the "recolored" IMAX version, so is The Lion King, with it's redrawn sections, and I'm not sure about Aladdin (i think Luke said in his review he couldn't see differences) (I should print that review and make a booklet of it to read at leisure is that good) but at least it comes with an alternate mix and 2 deleted/changed lines and its supposedly newly re-rendered, no?

And guess what, so in a sense is Snow White, after the digital transformation into: "in this DVD is as if were looking at the cels themselves", instead of looking at the photographed film..

So... Platinum Line = 21rst Century Digital Version?

Next is Bambi and Cinderella, so they will be snow whited

That may be one difference between the Fantasia/Sleeping Beauty Platinums and the regular releaeses, for example SB getting a more actual glossy film cel tack sharp look (or digitally rendered look) than the recent DNRed R1 release..

Now, that on Fantasia would look weird since Fantasia is more like an old fashioned painting in many segments...
