So sorry if there’s already a thread for this, but I was wondering if anyone could please help me with registering for D 23, and or if it’s not too late to register for the 2024 D23 expo and if there’s anything else I need to know etc. Would be truly gratefully appreciated :-)

The convention is a month from now and it doesn't seem like there's much excitement or maybe it just seems that way to me since I rarely enter social media sites these days.

I just feel like we’re waiting for more panels to be announced.

I’m excited for the parks announcements at D23. Well, assuming there are announcements. And they actually come to fruition. Lol

For me, knowing that we are stuck in sequelville for the next couple of years Disney doesn't exactly "excite" me anymore the way it used to. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll announce a new original animated feature wether it be traditional or computer animated.

Then (I’m not necessarily accusing you :-) you and others should’ve supported wish and all those other original movies more instead of being swayed by others then……

Who said I didn't?! Besides relying merely on sequels there is also something to be said about the actual quality of the storytelling, which to me has been in serious decline at Disney. They are stuck in their own head as far as I'm concerned, telling variations of the same basic plot beats, trying to avoid controversy, surprise and a sense of wonder from the general public. Their brand lacks vision and a point of view, and feels more like the result of endless focus groups. Unfortunately...

While the schedule sounds exciting, why already have another panel for both Toy Story and A Goofy Movie? Don`t get me wrong, while I think both movies deserves their panel, they already been celebrated at Disney D23 Expo before. So why have panels for them again? Why not having new panels for movies that haven`t been given panels previously? At one hand, I would`ve personally loved a panel for both Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But due to their staples, it`s not going to happen.

Personally speaking, I'm glad we're getting another panel for A Goofy Movie. The 2015 panel was in a smaller room compared to other panels, as they underestimated just how popular it would be. Although my friends and I got in line for it, it filled up fairly quickly, so we missed out on attending. Even though MouseInfo later posted complete video of the panel, then Disney themselves posted their own studio copy of of the panel, nothing really compares to being in the room with the cast/crew and hearing their stories live. I remember at the 2015 Expo hearing from others who attended just how cool it was, so the FOMO was real that year. Glad that another panel is happening now (pre-emptively celebrating its 30th Anniversary, I guess) and that I have a better chance of attending it now.

Alright, fair enough. Sorry if I came across as neglecting towards the idea.

Personally, I was hoping for a Gargoyles panel, but I'm not going this year anyway.

Aaaw, I love the Aladdin and the Stepsister dolls! :) They are so beautiful. It`s a pity that I can`t attend the event.

Jealous about the Mr. Penguin plush and curious about the Ichabod and Mr. Toad figures. I'm particularly a sucker for that movie- still own a collectible Headless Horseman straw that I got from Liberty Square ages ago.

Finalized my schedule for the weekend, these are the panels I will be attending for the Expo. Thanks to overlap with other family/friends' reservations, have guaranteed seating for panels in bold italic. I'll try to get in line for the others, but if I miss them, then it's more show foor time for me, so I don't mind.

August 9:
10:30 to 11:30 - The Costuming Artistry Behind Disney Experiences (Hyperion Stage)
12:45 to 1:45 - The Muppets 70: A Glamorous Miss Piggy Retrospective (Walt Disney Archives Stage)
2:15 to 3:15 - Disneyland Foods: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow (Backlot Stage)
5:00 to 6:30 - Making A Goofy Movie: The Road to Lake Destiny (Walt Disney Archives Stage)
7:00 to 9:00 - Disney Entertainment Showcase (Honda Center)

August 10:
10:00 to 11:00 - Unusual Artwork from the Walt Disney Animation Research Library (Hyperion Stage)
11:45 to 12:45 - The Road to Cherry Tree Lane: Walt Disney's Mary Poppins (Hyperion Stage)
1:30 to 2:15 - National Geographic Photographers: Getting the Shot (Hyperion Stage)
4:30 to 5:45 - Stay Tuned: You're Watching Disney Channel (Walt Disney Archives Stage)
6:30 to 7:30 - Magic Journeys: Memories of the Sherman Brothers (Walt Disney Archives Stage)

August 11:
10:15 to 11:15 - Inside the Walt Disney Studios: A Cinemagical History (Hyperion Stage)
11:45 to 12:45 - Dream Chasing: Four Decades with Walt Disney Imagineering (Walt Disney Archives Stage)
1:45 to 2:45 - Donald Duck's 90th Quacktacular (Walt Disney Archives Stage)
3:30 to 4:15 - Restoring the Disney Animation Classics (Hyperion Stage)
5:00 to 7:00 - Disney Legends Award Ceremony (Honda Center)

The Honda Center panels were hard ticketed and I only wanted to attend Legends, but the ticket-buying process was a bit of a pain and I ended up with a ticket for Entertainment, so I'll go to that simply because I paid for it, but I'm not concerned if I miss the beginning of it.

Wasn't there going to be a "Once Upon A Studio" panel?
