Hey, I was just looking at Amazon.com today, and it says that tommorowland is no longer available. Im getting a bit scared, about the other dvds selling out. Is it a typo from Amazon? I mean its not even out yet! :o

This one?

They won't even get their shipment, until a week or so before it is due to be released, so you have nothing to worry about.

Wow! That's wild!! If it is true, which I wouldn't doubt if it were, I'm so glad I preordered these way back in August!! Since Amazon is great about not charging you for your order until it has shipped it just didn't make sense to not go ahead and put these on preorder. I do hope there is no problem with everyone who has preoredered getting their copies though!!

Well, that's odd. According to the numbers Disney issued, Tomorrowland had by far the fewest number of sets produced. From the number of pre-orders on the site, the fewest have been for Tomorrowland. I think it is possible (though surprising) that Amazon's gotten orders for all of their stock. If it's true, I'm sure that a fair number of the orders will not go through (expired credit cards, for instance) and then they'd have more stock.

I'm sure it's fine. I've seen Amazon say that before for titles that just haven't been released yet. Anyway, looks like Best Buy has got it available for preorder, and I'm sure others do too.

Yes, Amazon allocate stock as soon as the order is placed.

If numbers are short, Disney may have allocated stock to Amazon (ie Amazon my not get all the discs they ordered with) or maybe Amazon themselves underestimated demand and didn't order enough.

If it is Disney allocating stock, it's unexcusible given this was the reason the releases were delayed in the first place!

That's weird it's not even avaible and it's already sold out.
This must be a mistake.
It wasn't even selling that well.
Anyways I hope I could get it at Costco.
It won't be sold out their.
Maybe Amazon knew it won't sell that well and issue a little of Tomorrowland.

Hi,

We have 3 of each of these on order (for myself and 2 friends - we're in Luxembourg in Europe) to reduce shipping costs.

Is there a danger of people like me with preorders not getting our items, or worse, not getting the limited edition tins but getting fobbed off with the standard plastic ones?

thanks if you can put our minds at rest...

Philip

There's most likely no way you'd get standard plastic ones, since that's not what you ordered and as far as I know, Amazon's never carried them.

As for getting your pre-order, people have managed to order Disney Treasures from Amazon that they did not have. But that was when they were out of stock and came back in stock. I think they'll almost certainly honor your pre-order even if they've run out of stock to take new orders.

phew !

thanks Luke... 8)

I want to try and buy the Wave 1 and Wave 2 treasures? But I am worried about getting damaged, bootleg, or imported ones...do you know of a good company that can be trusted to sell me ones in tins...

I am talking about Mickey in Black & White / Davey Crocket etc.... as these may never come to Region 2

thanks

Philip

Well, as far as I know, the big name chains just don't have any more copies of the Wave 1 and Wave 2 Treasures. You can try and find a seller with good feedback on Amazon Marketplace. That is probably the best and easiest way to do it. (If you do, of course, you can use the site's links to support UltimateDisney!)

I don't think anyone's made bootleg tins, as I imagine that they'd be difficult to reproduce. So, I think you'll be able to find legitimate Treasures Tins. You'll just have to be willing to pay a premium.

Yes, but they also have the following note:

"Note: Due to this title's very limited production, we cannot guarantee delivery; all orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you by e-mail if we are unable to fulfill your order."

Looks like they have been really using those 6 months wisely...

When there's only so many to go around, nobody can be guarenteed a copy. And if Disney are allocating stock to retailers, no retailer can guarentee a copy for you either.

But AFAIK Amazon has a good stock system, with a decent first ordered, first out system so anyone with pre-orders should be included in their totals. I'm not worried myself.

I am a bit worried. Acutally I think that comes from someone attempting to break into my place while I have been on vacation. I still have yet to hear if they actually got in. ANd I got a lot of Disney movies they can steal.....uggg.

so I am a bit worried.....I think it will go away soon.

I'm REALLY worried! I don't order my region 1 DVDs from Amazon- I order them from a Brazilian site which imports DVDs, because when you order anything other than books from International stores, you have to pay a tax when the product arrives here. So, I'm afraid the store that I order from won't be able to get the Treasures!!! :o

Just for fun I like t track the ranking of the treasures. I noticed yesterday their rankings climbing substantialy to the point of dropping under 75 for the first time in a long while. Perhaps someone got wind of what was happening and all the retailers, ebay vultures, and enthusiast stragglers finally saw the writting on the wall and got in for one last gold dig.

Although it is not available for order online, I have seen some tins at retail brick and mortar stores. For example, as of two days ago, the local Best Buy still had one copy of the "Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studio" sitting on the shelf.

Oh, oh... problems!
No "Tomorrow Land" on the list of Disney DVD releases, thought the other three Treasures are there: http://disneyvideos.disney.go.com/calendar/2004.html
