My mom loves Days of our lives and Passions

I like Passions too and watch it when I am off of school. Mom usually tells me what happens. I love Luis and Sheridin! :)

I used to be a big SoapOpera fan but not anymore.
I just got tired of the storyline.
I used to watch "Days of our Lives" all the time.
Also "One Life to Live".

I love watching Passions! Since i have school my mom tapes Days of Our Lives and Passions for me! The storylines have gotton really good. In Days of Our Lives everyone is being killed by the Serial Killer (aka-Marlana!), and on Passions Sheridin has been brainwashed by her father to forget about Luis, and Teresa lost her child to Gwen. I thought i was the only teenager who watched Days of Our Lives and Passions :D ![/code]

If you are ever home with nothing to do you have to cath an episode of Days of Our Lives. They are killing everyone off the show, even Alice Horton (if you remeber her). The shocking part of it is that the killer is Marlana Evens (if you remeber her). The storylines have gotton excellent, i love it! :D

BIG Soap Opera Fan here!

I tend to watch just the New York-produced soaps: All My Children, One Life to Live, Guiding Light, As the World Turns. I also watch General Hospital, and sometimes Y&R.

I used to be a big Days fan, up until 2001, when that teenage crapfest known as Tropical Temptation was on. I haven't watched the show since then, except for November-February to see Maggie's death (I loved her, damn you James E. Reilly for killing her and Alice and Doug!).

Days and Passions are just too...out there for me. They don't take themselves seriously as soaps, which is probably why I don't like them. And IMO, making Marlena the serial killer is total character assassination. Heck, bringing back James E. Reilly was basically an invitation to run the show into the ground!

Here in Norway they don't air Days Of Our Lives. Passions I only saw once, but it seemed to silly.

But I do watch - and love - The Bold And The Beautiful. I'm at work when it air, but I always tape and watch it later that day. There's also a Norwegian sopa called Hotel Caesar that I follow.

I totally agree they have killed off so many people. Alice Horton's murder was shocking- she has been on every episode sice 1965! I also liked Maggie, :x she has been appering as a ghost recently. If you want to catch an episode you must watch Days of Our Lives this friday(4-30-04) and next monday (5-3-04) that is when Marlana reveals her motive. And who would have thought that the beloved Marlana was a killer. The horrible writer is leaving this winter and a new writer will take over as of January 2005.

Looks like there are a lot of Days of Our Lives fans here. I used to watch Days all the time, but only because I liked Brady and Chloe. They just made such a cute couple and I loved their duets. Especially when they sang "16 Going on 17" from Sound of Music. But after the storyline with Chloe's leukemia (which was very cliche, even for a soap opera) I lost interest, and after Chloe's character left I quit watching for good. It didn't seem worth the effort of taping it anymore so I could watch it after school. I have to admit though, Marlena as a serial killer seems completely out of character! What are the writers thinking?

Dude, stop wasting bandwidth with these pointless one-liners that do not offer any growth in the conversation.

Anyway, yeah it does seem like there are lots of Days fans here. I was one from 1999-2001, and during that brief tenure trying to watch the crap that James E. Reilly was peddling as soap opera storytelling. Days of our Lives, IMO, ended August 8, 2003. A new soap debuted August 11, 2003, written by Mr. Reilly. I like to think of it as Salem's Passions, since what's on the show should NOT be called Days of our Lives.

And if anyone here remembers the following soaps:

1. Capitol (CBS, 1982-1987)
2. Santa Barbara (NBC, 1984-1993)
3. Port Charles (ABC, 1997-2003)
4. Edge of Night (CBS, 1956-1975 then ABC, 1975-1984)

World of Soap Themes (or WoST) is currently showing an episode from each, along with a 1985 episode of V: The Series. I highly recommend checking out the Santa Barbara episode, it's the PREMIERE from July 30, 1984!

ETA:

Silly me, didn't include the WoST address! http://www.wost.org

Amen. You should check "dudes" recent posts for a real eye opener as to how to get close to 1,000 posts without actually saying anything.

I started watching soaps in college (72) & began with Love of Life which starred Christopher Reeve Pre Superman, John Anniston (father of Friends' Jennifer) & was very fun to watch. I also watched the old Ryan's Hope & Edge of Night. Also watched Days back in those days (Robert Clary of Hogan's Heroes was on it then). After many of them were cancelled I watched Y&R, As The World Turns (w/Meg Ryan. Amazing how many stars started in soaps) & General Hospital. I watched those 3 & Port Charles for a while & eventually gave up ATWT, then Y&R & Port Charles years later & finally gave up GH about 2 years ago. There were a lot of great years in GH with Luke & Laura. I would say out of the soaps I used to watch Edge of Night, Ryan's Hope, Y&R & GH were my favorite.

Bacxk in the summer of 1999 I got into As the World Turns and The Bold and the Beautiful (which I watched on and off).

This past year though, and I mean 12 months, I really have fallen off the soap bandwagon. Although now I am watching ATWT again whenever I find time. I really like Roseanna. Cady McClain is such an amazing actress. I don't think I was ever effected as much watching a scene, in tv or movies, as I was when she had to give up Caqbot in the Police Station...

Although I have the feeling we haven't scene the last of Cabot... I have always been the master of calling things and a couple of weeks ago I predicted that Jordan Sinclair was Cabot's father, unbeknownst to him, hence why Ro must marry him, and why she needed Cabot's brush and comb set (DNA test). And since the first episode I saw Jordan in I knew he was Barbra's son. My guess is that when everything hit's the fan, Jordan will probably go after somekind of visitation with Cabot, but won't want Ro to see him, but Uncle Paul will arrange secret meeting, winning his way back into Rosanna's good graces, and perhaps heart(?)

Well a guy can hope. I think Roseanna and Paul are the 2 best character's on the show. I have also always been a big Molly fan, even though most fans seem to dislike her, and I like the new storyline with Lily.

On ocassion I tune into Passions to see how it is progressing, but it has been a while since I've seen it.

I don't watch Days, but heard they are killing of the entire senior cast to make room, for an entirely teen to mid 20's cast, to bring in the younger demographic, don'y know if this is good news or not for all you fans...

Well that's all for now, better end this before my computer freezes as it so often does...

 Now I'm feeling a bit sad. I remember the scenes before, when Craig told her, and she basically told him in not so many words that it was over between them. Then she rushed over to Fairwinds and told Carly "Give me the baby!", hoping she could run away...

I definitely agree that Jordan could be Cabot's father, but I doubt he'd be Barbara's son. There's already the attraction between him and Jen (Babs' daughter), so the ick factor is kind of...well, off the charts. And usually any incest story seems to be reserved for the Snyders (Iva/Josh/Lily, back in the late 80s). And there's gonna be a shotgun wedding between Jordan and Ro (so Ro can get Cabot, then she'll divorce Jordan) in Las Vegas sometime either next week or the week after.

I wathced As The World Turns and Guiding Light from midsummer 2001- late summer 2003, but I don't watch them anymore. In my opinion, Guiding Light, (which I have to give credit for being the longest running show ever [premiered on radio in 1937 and still runs new episodes today]), got silly with supernatural storylines (Reva's psychic abilities) and As The World Turns I could only watch during summer because I was at school, and I just got tired of watching soap operas. However, I have to say that As The World Turns was the best, having very creative storylines and talented actors (mostly) for a soap.
