I have recently started my disney dvd collection and am going about it really well. I have run into the problom that i own all In Print Dvd's. I have started going to ebay to find others. Does anyone know How to check authenticity? Is there a way to check by upc? Also are the dvds from the anthology the same as the ones that werent placed in that collection for example is Little Mermaid non anthology the same as Little mermaid anthology? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum DisneyDVDFreak

Both Little Mermaid (anthology) and non-anthology were the same DVD.
Hercules, Pinocchio, Mulan and Peter Pan were Limited Edition but the upgrade of Gold Collection are the same.
While Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians and The Jungle Book are only Limited Editions. Both versions of Limited Edition and Gold Collection are the same.

But, on the good side Aladdin, Bambi, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the Tramp are all coming to Platinum Edition.

Those are worth it for the upgrade. :D

Yes, welcome to the forum, DisneyDVDFreak.

I'm assuming when you say "Anthology", you mean this:

As for checking for bootlegs, there are lots of things to look for. The most obvious bootlegs won't look anything like the real deal and may even have a DVD-5 or 9 sticker on the cover. In general, "Asian import" is usually a euphemism for bootleg on the Disney DVDs.

But even if it looks pretty much like a real studio-issued DVD, you'll have to look closer. Always check feedback on eBay, and use common sense. If a seller is offering a number of copies of the Limited Issue DVDs at prices lower than he has to, chances are they're not genuine discs.
