Old material in that case!
Because Annette have suffered badly from her sickness and can hardly speak anymore. (The last thing I heard about her at least!)

I didn't know that about Annette. That is sad. A 2-disc Special Edition would have been great; I like your thinking, jesus_brer. I am happy with what Disney is giving the two Shaggy films. Even if it's not overflowing with bonus features (and I seriously hope Disney hasn't scrapped their fantastic 2-disc or at least packed single-disc Vault line altogether), the features that are there should be substantial, and not the type of fluff that's bound to be on a DVD release of the remake they're doing now.

Yes it would be good but Annette is very ill with her illness. It is a shame that had to happen to such a sweet person. Annette is one of the best people in the world in my eyes.
But that would have been nice to have conversations with Annette if she was still able to do so.

I'm quite surprized that a lot of you were unaware of Annette Funicello's condition. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987. It was a big story at the time and the media followed her condition for many years as it became difficult for her to talk, she was in a wheelchair and had constant tremors. In 1995 there was a TV movie "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story" At the end of the movie she appeared as herself and that was pretty much the last time she's been seen on camera (to my knowledge) Since then the media has respected her privacy as her condition continued to deteriorate.

That's true Poppins#1. I didn't think there was anyone who didn't know of the severity of the MS which Annette suffers from. Although diagnosed in 87 she had said that even when she filmed Back To The Beach (I believe in 86) that she began to experience what she just thought was clumsiness but shortly was diagnosed as MS. That was a very well made movie of her life to that point but oh so sad.

I remembered seeing her on Full House, but I only thought of her as that nice lady who was on a show with Mickey Mouse.
A few months ago I saw an ET! special on her, and it was really sad the way she tried to talk to her fans, thanking them for her support. It was heartbreaking to see her struggle with each word, especially since she was one of Disney's sweethearts.
I thought it was cool how she always referred to Walt as "Mr. Disney", even into the 1990's.
She said that when she started making the beach films, Walt actually went to her and asked that she not wear a bikini, because he wanted her to uphold the wholesome, Disney image. She agreed, out of respect for him.
If only the same could be said for Disney's new "sweetheart" Hilary Duff.

I don't really think Hilary has gotten trashy... at least not yet (let's hope not). In terms of both artistry and the way she carries herself, I have more respect for her than former Disney sweetheart Britney Spears.

I agree with awallaceunc. I think times have changed and it is more acceptable for girls to show some clevage. I don't think she would be as big of a music star if she didn't. And it is not like she is showing a lot. Nothing she wears is very revealing.
