Rumor: Disney Developing 2D Animated Film Based On French Fairy Tale ‘Bluebeard’

That fairytale is so far from modern day culture that I find the source material to be the most unrealistic aspect of this rumor actually.

I totally believe they’d do hand drawn animation again, seeing as they’ve hinted at it and are allegedly training a new generation of animators. But this fairytale?

I’ll believe it when they announce it.

The DisInsider already announced the title on YouTube on May 24. Back then, they said it would be the first of the two WDAS movies coming out in 2024. They also said the second one would be titled Naditu and they believed it would be produced in conjunction with the studio that is doing the upcoming animated series Iwájú. Youtuber Skye Roberts made a video about what these films could be about. Apparently, Naditu was the name given to some priestesses in Babylonian society who couldn't marry but were independent and could engage in business activities.

I don't find this rumor believable either. Both projects seem too weird and adult for WDAS.

Well, of course it seems too strange to be true. But I wouldn`t mind if it actually was true. *Sighs*
