Well, we’d better make sure Moana 2 does well enough to turn Tiana into a fully 2D/hand-drawn animated movie.
Otherwise, our only chance we have left to bring back hand-drawn animated films to Disney will fail and there will be no more chances for us to bring it back.
It's not our job to try to spoonfeed executives on agendas they've shown no interest in fulfilling. There's no way to know for sure how they would perceive that movie's success or if 2D animation would even cross their mind, though I can think of a few places their minds are more likely to go if they see that sequels like Moana 2 really are the future.
We all should see Moana 2 if it looks like a film that looks personally fulfilling to us and let the cards fall where they will.
I would see Tiana if it became a film. But I assumed it would be TV quality as far as its story and so on, I'd be surprised if it would be worthy to be a sequel to the original film (I know that's what some had worried about with Moana 2). Still, I guess it would be nice to see the character back in theaters. I wonder if the TV series is supposed to have musical numbers then? It's hard for me to remember, it's been a while. I couldn't imagine (in the hypothetical it got put together as a film) that a film wouldn't have them.
Listening to most often lately:
Måneskin ~ "Gossip"
Måneskin ~ "Timezone"
Carly Pearce ~ "Oklahoma"
Honestly i don't think What kind of series they want to make. I don't see Disney making tv shows of their classics like Marvel does. In my opinion a movie is a better option but let’s see how it goes
Uuuuuuntil Moana 2 makes boffo numbers at the worldwide box office to make Disney go change its mind and turn it into The Princess and the Frog 2 for movie theaters…

Moana is very popular worlwide. Tiana is not as popular as Moana is so I don't think that they are going to release this in theaters. In Europe Tiana is one of the less popular princesses so it would be very risky to make this movement.
I would like to see it at theaters anyway

It doesn’t matter. The only way Tiana has a chance at being full 2D/hand-drawn animated is if they turn from a Disney+ series it into a big-screen sequel to The Princess and the Frog, since people aren’t watching much originals on Disney+ anymore
Going a little OT, but please bear with me because it does relate to this. They have unfortunately hired the directors and show runners for the upcoming Harry Potter TV show!I
It’s also Unfortunately interesting, because you may have heard Eddie Murphy reconfirm that they are indeed Doing a fifth Shrek, And a donkey spin off that’s gonna come out afterwards, that could very well be released in 2026, which I realize my friends is going to be one of the biggest movie years ever that’s unfortunately ruined by the plan release date of this planned series, And what’s “interesting” about this is that you may remember over a year ago that literally the same day that Eddie Murphy first talked about the donkey spinoff is also when they more officially confirmed moving forward with this, so they are intertwined in someway, being an opposite ends of the spectrum of continuing a franchise one with the original actors/Continuity and one without!Another thing with this that I literally just realized is, and I apologize if this is hard to follow, but with the second Moana coming out, being reworked from what was originally a series, you may have possibly heard that many Disney fans are wondering if the Tianna Disney+ series is gonna be reworked into the second Princess and the frog movie once the second Moana does so well, also especially when you consider of course Tianas bayou adventure and everything else it’s coming out with that. Well, do you think that if the lunatics at WB see this go so well, will they try to possibly rework this show into a new theatrical movie for Harry Potter, which will also help them completely eradicate the original series which will also maybe even help them with the whole issues that the theme parks are going to run into with the original continuity/version?
There is a glimmer of hope that Might reverse this as you may have also heard that the second freaky Friday is indeed going to be theatrically released and coming out next year, so like I sang about last year, Maybe if it does well it might also help them reconsider that? Either way, we must make sure that the second freaky Friday does really well and again do whatever we can to try to stop this show (yes it’s so painful for me to literally acknowledge this!!!!) From happening
And look at that, it looks like it’s gonna be fully 2D/hand-drawn animated, indeed.
Looks like we’re about to get a taste of the good old days of Disney in a long-form project done right, not like that “3D that looks like 2D” look for Wish.
a) This is an illustration for The Princess and the Frog property at large to commemorate the film's 15th anniversary. It's not something specifically made for the series like publicity still or something taken from the series like a screenshot. b) This display uses old illustrations of the characters; Naveen and Louis are taken from previously-published storybooks and clip-art while Tiana is taken from the Disney 100 mural at the Roy E. Disney building. c) Even if this was indeed something from the Tiana series, a static illustration is not necessarily reflective of the animation's medium or art style, especially when it concerns cel-shaded CG animation.
FWIW, when I was on the tour of The Walt Disney Studios on Monday, I brought up Tiana with our tour guide a couple times. And the tour guide said, when I brought up to her how I hope it’s hand-drawn animated, that she “hasn’t heard otherwise” and that all she knows is that “they’re using a different type of software” to make it, along with saying before that when the tour began that “the reels coming in from it at every strong, from what I heard.”
So, I’d still like to hold out hope that Tiana will indeed be hand-drawn animated, and while that image could be from the original Princess and the Frog, it can hypothetically also be an image from the prologue of the Tiana series before we see a time-jump into the story of Tiana’s current day.
I know many of you don’t see it that way, but I feel like it could be that.
Day 1 of the Disney D23 Ultimate Fan Event’s off to a great start for me.
How?
Two words: Jennifer Lee. The president of Walt Disney Animation Studios, who I got a pic with.
I also asked her about the #Tiana series for #DisneyPlus, if it would be hand-drawn animated and if we’ll learn more on it at Disney’s Entertainment Showcase tonight at the Honda Center.
All she would tell me is that “not tonight, at least not all of it,” but they also told me they would go into “more depth” on that this weekend at the Creating Tiana’s World panel on Sunday, which I luckily got a reservation for.
We've been over this.
That artwork is old art created for the og movie, and says nothing about the style of the final product. Dont believe anything until they A, flat out say its hand drawn, or b, show a trailer.
