Fingers crossed, the fourth time's the charm.
Dean Wellins, who was originally announced as a director alongside Briggs, is directing another project at Disney Animation.

Phew!
I would have truly expected Wellins to have stormed out of the studio in disgust at this point!
Let's not forget that besides the three features he was attached to direct, and that were either retooled or cancelled, he also directed the animated short
Tick Tock Tale which, for unfathomable reasons, was taken off the theatrical schedule and not paired with a WDAS feature release. It remained buried for years until it finally surfaced on the
Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection on blu-ray. Even so, if I were him I'd still be miffed at this, especially as the decision to withhold the film made absolutely no sense. I have a similar lament for Chris Williams's
Glago's Guest which was supposed to premiere with
Bolt in 2008. That one has remained buried and I cannot understand why it was never been released in any form.
