Happy Birthday, Amy!

I don’t think you did anything wrong. Like your Dad said you’re probably about 80% immune now and you had your mask off the tiniest amount of time. I understand your upset about the employees not wearing masks— I wear my mask at work and it bothers me when I see other people at their work not wearing their masks. How were the samples? And is there anything special that you want to use the oil/vinegar for?

I love your story about the service dog! That’s really heartwarming.

Tomorrow (well, now today) is our egg hunt with the kids. I bought lots of plastic eggs and made goodie bag prizes last night. Hopefully it will be fun!

Thanks, Disney Duster! I actually saw a few service dogs yesterday, which made my heart really happy, but I'm really uplifted by that one! There's nothing I can do but hope and pray at this point!

Thanks, UF! I love oil and vinegar anyway, so I knew that I'd like all the samples. They had SO MUCH variety, so I only tasted a few. I knew I wanted a lemon oil, lemon vinegar, raspberry vinegar, and basil (either oil or vinegar) going in (lemon's my favorite- that combination on a salad or fish is to die for), and then I also tasted a mango one (delish, but tasted like dessert so I didn't get it) and surprisingly a tomato vinegar, which was really good, and will go great on salad or fish. I just really like salad, so I like having a variety of ones to choose from...it tastes a little fresher and lighter than regular salad dressing, which I still use too... I have a few really tiny bottles from the other store already, but I'm running out, so now I can use til my heart's content.

Easter egg hunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, that will be so much fun!!!! I hope the weather cooperates for you!!!! What types of goodies/candy did you stuff the eggs and goodie bags with?!

I haven't been on here *as often* as usual because I'm back to working on a Disney project that I started while I was in college (so long ago!). It's eventually to use for my blog (I hardly do anything with it because of time), but it's just researching the productions of the films, gathering info. But it takes a long time (hence working on it for YEARS- not straight through), so I've been doing that more and UDing less.

Great news- my husband just made an appointment to get his Covid shot at the VA!!! I am BEYOND THRILLED!!!!!

How are you all doing this week?

Aww, thanks all of you guys. It won't ever be done...I haven't had much time the past few days to work on it. I literally started this thing when I was in college, & I graduated in 2008... very slow going. I've just been working on gathering information from some of my favorite sites, some of which are always done or don't exist and I have to use Archive.org. I can make a post when I have something new up. My profile has my site's info, but I only have made one post in many years!

I had a very bad day. We had to have an anti-masker escorted from the building at the museum where I work because he refused to wear a mask. An hour and a half later, I went on my lunch break and he was sitting in his van in the employee parking lot. As I was pulling out, he pulled out at the same time. I thought he followed me to a gas station, where I lost him. My co-workers said his family left right after I left on my break. I don’t know if he followed me all the way to the gas station or if he actually did pull in from the employee lot to the guest lot on the other side of property and it was just a similar, but different van that also pulled into the gas station. I’ve never been so scared in my life. I have a headache and just want to cry.

UF, that's absolutely terrifying. I'm so sorry. :(. I don't even have words. I'm glad that you didn't encounter him when you got out of your car at the gas station. Do you have anything like pepper spray, to have just in case? It's best to not leave that in a hot car, and your employer may not allow it in the building, but during these times it might give a little peace of mind.

I hope that man doesn't come back to your work. It sounds like his family wore masks and was able to enjoy the museum? Why couldn't he just wear a damn mask?!

Maybe Security (if you have that at work) can more closely monitor the employee parking lot in the near future?

Yeah I actually did not get out of my car at the gas station. I just pulled in there to see if the white van would follow me there. When it did, I pulled out of the station ASAP. Before I left I tried to see if anyone would step out of the van but no one did. I then drove (honestly, a little erratically because I was so scared) a few different places to make sure no one was still following me. I picked up something for my lunch (which I couldn’t eat because I was so freaked out) and then returned to work, parking in the guest lot.

His wife would pull down her mask and had to be asked to put it on, just about any time we saw her. But she at least was willing to put it on, whereas her husband refused. He even said we’d have to call the police— so our VP did, to have him escorted. We have no security.

I don’t have anything for self defense. I’m not sure I could carry pepper spray into my other job but I need to look it up.

I'm glad the cops were called. Maybe guests like that should be banned, but with no security on site, bad things might happen. It sucks that people like that put others' health AND security at risk. I hope they had a rotten time and won't return. I'd advise looking into different personal protection options. I have pepper spray in my purse...I've never had to use it and if I were in a situation, I don't know that I'd know how, but there are scary people out there.

I'm sorry, I hope you'll be okay. I probably would've done the same thing you did (as far as pulling into a gas station to see if they'd follow then driving away). It's hard to believe a museum wouldn't have at least one or two security guards? Strange.

Amy, you’re right, I’m definitely going to be looking into pepper spray or something. My other job is in a school so I need to be careful about what I can carry or even leave in my car.

Divinity— I guess, technically the university which funds the museum provides security. But there is never any physical security presence as we are about 20-30 minutes away from the main campus. We are a combination fossil site/children’s museum— so the dig pits are all guarded with high fences, cameras, and most of the fossil collection is under lock and key. The exhibits in the children’s museum are all installed into the building and anything you can touch is not valuable.

I’m still feeling freaked out by it all, but trying not to dwell on it. I’ve just never been in a situation like that before.

It's normal to still feel on edge from that. It was a super-scary experience. You might want to let your supervisor know that you're still feeling uncomfortable, and see if they have any advice, such as don't go out into the parking lot by yourself, or things like that...?

I wish I had more time to post on here. I have dozens and dozens of articles I've emailed myself to share on here, and I just don't have time to read them all/post them all. I've been going to the vet a lot and that eats a lot of my time up (2 of my dogs just started arthritis shots, and it's 8 doses every 3 days, x 2 dogs, so it's been a lot of time and $, but one of my dogs who passed away was on the shot, and one of my current dogs has been on the shot for years, so I know that the benefits are worth it). So much Disney I want to talk about with you guys and not enough time! :p

I went to my in-laws' house for the first time since 2019 on Sunday. We didn't stay too long, and we hung out with my brother-in-law most of the time (I wore my mask but when we were eating I did not unless someone approached me; I was not fully comfortable, but most of the time I was eating I was by myself...but not the whole time). I keep having to tell myself that Jill Biden and Jennifer Garner went to West Virginia without masks and they did that to show that the vaccines work. But my parents said that I have to be extra careful and the shot is not 100%-- granted, I am more paranoid than my parents are I think, but we're still pretty similar in our fear of the world I guess :p.

My husband just got SeaWorld tickets for free because they had a 'thing' for veterans to get free tickets, so we'll go there a couple weekends from now. Dun dun dunnnnnnn.

Amy, I’m glad you got to visit your in-laws. I think it will be wonderful to go out to a theme park again! I hope you guys have fun! I think we just have to trust that the vaccine works and trust the CDC.

I have to say. I’m exhausted. I had a job interview this morning at 8:30 and I had trouble sleeping. But I think the interview went well. We’ll see...

I watched Sleeping Beauty before bed last night. It’s never been one of my favorites, but I sorta just let it wash over me and I really enjoyed it like I never have before. I think I’m going to watch it again tonight, if I don’t fall asleep first!

Amy, yes, it's true the vaccines may not work 100%. But also, masks won't protect you 100% either. Try not to be so afraid. Live. Live. At least you are living by going to your in-laws, but you don't need to be so afraid. I just...I wish you could not be so afraid. You just gotta live.

I shall pray you get a job you really want Brelly, and I'm glad you really enjoyed Sleeping Beauty! Sounds like a. nice thing to do before sleep. Haha. Sleep. And Sleeping Beauty.
