This should be interesting. I have no knowledge of the musical, but I always liked the film.

I like the music in the Broadway show, so I'm looking forward to this. I'll make a pass about remakes when it's based on a Broadway show.

Looking forward to this although it'll be hard seeing new actors on the big screen play these iconic roles.

I don’t understand them hiding the fact it’s a musical in this trailer… is there really an audience out there who’d be totally into a Mean Girls remake but totally put off by music and songs??? I don’t get it.

I feel the same way...I'm only on board with this because it's a musical; watching the trailer, I'm just thinking what's the point...I'm just not into remakes except for rare exceptions. But I'm sure the song sequences will be worth seeing.

Bought a 1:30 ticket for this and after 15 minutes a snow storm killed the power. Bought a ticket for the next showing because I didn't want to put up with the hassle of trying to get them to let me see the later showing for free since the old showing played the movie after the power went back on, but jumped ahead by 15 minutes that had just been blankness. It was...a little better than meh. Like a Disney remake really, like Aladdin or (almost as good as) Cinderella. It has a really lackluster cast in the principle characters, they all pale to the originals, except I feel Regina George was a perfect casting, almost as good as the original. Maybe I just like blondes. Her songs were so good, though! A lot of the music was pretty good actually, but I can only really remember the first bit of "Meet the Plastics" very well out of all the music, so, meh. Moana's voice actress was in this! She was meh just like in Moana. I hate Moana, by the way. I just actively dislike it because so many people love it and yet I feel it's not much of a classic. I find it to be a weird movie. Anyway, Cady's actress was meh, but she was exactly like a young (though much less good) Amy Adams! So much so, her mom should have bee played by Amy Adams and it would have been very uncanny! Well, if you like the original and like musicals, see this, but, otherwise, it's pointless, there were like no surprises or much new beyond the songs and a kind of nicer (not much different, but overall a feeling of niceness) ending, I thought.

Sorry you thought it was just meh! I have never listened to the songs to this show so I wasn’t super eager to see it. Maybe will check it out when it comes to streaming.
