The film is scheduled to be released on December 22, 2021.
HN Entertainment has learned from a source that Sherlock Holmes 3’s setting is expected to be the Old West in the United States, specifically San Francisco, California. It would certainly take Holmes of out his European comfort zone and give production designers a little more variety with the setting.

“We hope to propel the story forward,” Law teases. “As always, the essence of the story is their codependency. We’re going to examine — since it’s been several years since we’ve seen them — we’re going to play up the fact that they haven’t seen each other for a long time either.”

For some reason, I didn't think the second one was that successful, but apparently it was now that I'm looking at the numbers. I saw the first one years ago and hated it. Recently re-watched it + the sequel and I actually kind of like them now. I'm happy a third one's being made.

That's a shame. I wanted Guy Ritchie to finish the trilogy as I enjoyed the first two.

Two spin-off series are in development, but their fate lies in the success of the third film instalment.
