Spies in Disguise, which is based on the short Pigeon: Impossible, will be released on September 13, 2019. Judging from the teaser trailer, the movie looks like fun, even though I'm not at all fond of the character designs.

Me too! It looks like Blue Sky is going for a more comedic tone this time and I'm here for it.

Isn't he Spider-Man? Maybe they want him to sound like him?

Oh, it's definitely for the sake of recognizability, I'm just wondering who it's directed at. I don't think Tom Holland is a major draw for either kids or adults to warrant this casting and then have him speak with an American accent on top of that. I'm guessing they thought kids would be like "OMG, that's the voice of Spider-Man!" They could have hired literally any young American actor and audiences would be none the wiser. The whole idea of casting celebrities to voice characters in animated films is absolutely crazy, because half of them don't even have unique or special voices, Tom Holland included.

I’m praying this movie performs adequately at the box office so maybe Disney will consider keeping Blue Sky as their third animation studio and not shutter it. The fact that they have not confirmed anything beyond Nimona is troubling to me.

There are often a few Christmas releases that continue to play well through January. Into the Spider-Verse was that movie last year, while 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and The Greatest Showman were still bringing in audiences after the holidays were over. I can see Spies in Disguise and Cats being those movies this year, once audiences have had their fill of Star Wars and Jumanji.

^ That is a really good trailer!! The previous ones weren't bad, but I think this one is way better! Now it's must-see for me!

I cannot help noticing that ever since the Disney acquisition, trailers for Spies in Disguise are chucking out the 20th Century Fox logo and emphasising the Blue Sky Studios logo. That's a good thing, right?

Is it true Ana de Armas, Zendaya and Catherine Zeta-Jones are all voice actors in this movie ? or was that just fake news spread on the web for some reason ?

I saw that via the mail yesterday. I was taken aback because I thought it was a Dreamworks movie. But, no, Blue Sky Studios, now owned by Disney.

^ I knew it's Blue Sky, but I was a little surprised that it was a featured title. I bet Call of the Wild will end up being one, too. #DisneyFamily Marvel and LucasFilm have been.

Bizarrely the DMC is offering different people different FT’s this month. Mine was a combo of Pinocchio and Lady and the Tramp although I can search for and add Spies in Disguise to my DMC cart.

This is one case where I don’t mind the brands mixing— DMC is so cheap if you have a membership and wait for the 60% off offers!
