And Zegler is only Latina (Colombiana , to be specific)on her mother’s side. She’s Polish on her father’s side.
So she can have SEVERAL seats! I really dislike her the more she opens her big mouth!

I can see that people on twitter are upset about David's casting as well.

The guy they got for David Kawena is very cute. Too bad they couldn't have managed that for Eric.

They choose a bad picture, I saw a screenshot of his audition and he looked more like David there.

Honestly they got Lilo so right, I wish they cast Nani better even though I know it could be worse, and I'm not sure about David yet, but I'll still watch for Lilo.

Yes, maybe this might end up being one of the decent ones after all. At least L&S doesn't have a soundtrack to worry much about whether songs will be cut or changed like with other films (at least, imo).

Here's some more good news:

Original Stitch v.a. and creator Chris Sanders in in final negotiations to return and voice Stitch in the live-action version.

Also, original Nani v.a. Tia Carrere will portray a new-to-this-version character named Mrs. Kekoa, whose function in the plot is currently unknown.

From the article:
Kahiau Machado was cast as David Kawena last week, but has since been recast with Kaipot Dudoit. During Disney’s vetting process, previous posts in which Machado used racial slurs were uncovered on social media. Machado’s casting was not officially confirmed by Disney.

I'm glad Tia Carrere has a role in the remake. I hope they give Jason Scott Lee a part too.

A shame the actor had to have something going on in their background with the slurs and all, because the new actor, well...

I think Dudoit looks more like David, but maybe I just find him more attractive :D.

Now that ‘The Little Mermaid’ has died at sea, we need to talk about the Stitch sitch
https://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/now ... tch-sitch/

I think it's a little too late for this one to avoid controversy--although, tbh, I think every Disney film from now on will be mired in some kind of controversy since Disney seeks controversy with their remakes at least and even with their other films they have a bull's-eye on them for political reasons--but I agree that their translation of Stitch into CGI should be softened. And I think it will be since Stitch isn't a specific animal they can model after like with Flounder, he's an alien uniquely created.

IDK, I think this one could end up okay now we know they didn't go through with cutting Bubbles and Chris Sanders is returning for Stitch. A shame about the new actor for David not being as cute, but he's not exactly an important character in the film anyway.

Not only will Tia Carrere make a live action cameo appearance, Jason Scott Lee will too.
