DisneyFan97, I would see Frozen since you are more of a Disney fan and we already know that show is fairly good.

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
Catherine Hope Fletcher is Cinderella, and here is what she looks like, from a photoshoot for the show:
I love that she is a bigger, full-figured woman! I hope she wears a more fairytale costume in the show though! lol
Here she is presenting herself:
Carrie Hope Fletcher is Cinderella | Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
Here is Sir Webber talking about the show:
Andrew, Emerald & Carrie in Conversation | Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
I love that it will be set in a beautiful fairytale kingdom! But I am sad that this Cinderella doesn't want to transform into a princess.
Here is a preview of the musical with some of a song:
Meet Cinderella | Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
I hate the song. I hate it. Not the lyrics, but the melody, the music. It sounds too modern, and the beginning sounds like "In My Own Little Corner"! It's bad it's reminiscent of another song, and that is my least favorite Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella song, too. Plus I don't know if she's singing "I've been living since I met you", or "I've been leaving since I met you", as it sounds like "living" to me, but "leaving" makes more sense with the other lyrics. I predict she is singing she is leaving the prince, because in this show she doesn't want to transform for someone, and so she leaves him to be with the "adorable oddball Sebastian" and the prince is free to be with gay with the duke. That is what I predict for the show. And I don't like that.

How is this still happening in October when everyone but those in dealing with essential matters is supposed to be quarantined?

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
I founder who will playthe Prince's servant Sebastian and Crazy old Marie( The Fairy Godmother) ?
Side note ; why does both this and the Rodgers and Hammerstioien musical name the Godmother character, Marie ?
Is it a coincidence or was her name this the Charles Perrault fairy tale ?

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
In this musical Sebastian is actually the name of the man Cinderella falls in love with instead of the Prince.
Neither the name Sebastian nor the name Marie appears in the original Charles Perrault Cinderella. As far as I know, neither name has been in any version of Cinderella before.

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
I think i misread. The servant character wasn't named Sebastian, his name was Jean in this version and Sebastian in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical; i think
At least there is an older male character in this show called Jeam, that much i KNOW !

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
You don't sound stupid!
Sebastian is the evil minister in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and Marie is the Fairy Godmother in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. So you are right about that.
However, no other famous version of the fairy tale had the name Sebastian or Marie before the Broadway version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

I’m glad he’s committed to Phantom reopening. I can’t believe he’s thinking about Cinderella for Broadway in October— was that in the cards before? Is he shooting for Broadway now just because he expects a lot of theatres will be vacant after this?

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
But everything announced so far has been about the West End... I’m sure it would have reached Broadway eventually, assuming its wasn’t an outright flop in the UK, maybe a year or two later— but aiming for Broadway this October is news, no?
