Nah. Disney will remove itself from the Brazilian market and give us a finger before they cancel the FOX deal. That or they will simply cease Fox Sports operations in the country or even sell it super cheap.

That was to be expected. I'm actually surprised they kept it this long.

Everybody in the non-English speaking parts of the world are able to pronounce Fox and the name of all the other major studios. It is short and easy. So why use a name like Searchlight, which is longer and many have problems pronouncing properly?
Just an advice; when you are choosing a name for a global brand, pick one that is both easy to say for everyone and which stands out a bit. In my opinion Searchlight sounds a little anonymous.

^ Fox Searchlight is a studio label or whatever you call it under Fox; I think they release indie films. So that's just known as Searchlight now, not all of Fox. "Regular" Fox is 20th Century Studios.

The funny thing is that back when it first started out in 1933, 20th Century Fox was actually called 20th Century Pictures. It became 20th Century Fox after merging with Fox Film Corporation in 1935.

Frankly, I'm surprised they have yet to make Darryl F. Zanuck a Disney Legend.

Why do I feel like this could be a bad idea?

The Fandom app Wiki says for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment:
"Starting with Dark Phoenix, all home media releases will be handled by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment."

I looked that up to see if Spies in Disguise will be sold on the Disney Movie Club website, but Dark Phoenix isn't on there...

I think even Disney doesn't want the stigma of Dark Phoenix belonging to their brand lol.

They should have renamed it 20th Century Pictures which was the original name of the studio before it merged with Fox.

It would have given it a certain nostalgia feel. At least they changed the name from 21st Century back to 20th Century.

That's a common misconception. They never changed the name of the studio to 21st Century. 21st Century Fox was formed after Murdock divided the assets of his company creating two new ones; News Corp. and 21st Century Fox. 21st Century Fox was the parent company of 20th Century Fox.

Yes, but it has been renamed to TFCF Corporation.
