Hello there.

I'm so glad I found this forum and it is great to be here! Hopefully I can get some answers to my questions.

I'm a big fan of all the old Disney classics. I – I assume like nearly everybody – grew up with the fantastic movies and cartoons. So I was wandering if there are any compilations or DVD/BD Box sets available with all the classics.

So last weekend I did some search online and had a look at a few shopping websites. But I didn't find anything good. Finally a found a Disney Set on the for sales website http://www.for-sale.co.uk/disney-dvd-bundle. It is called “Walt Disney Classics – Early Works”. As far as I can tell it contains 10 movies on 14 discs. I didn't find more information, but I found a picture as you can see below.



So does anybody here know or even own this set and can tell me a little bit more about it? Are there also any extras or special features on the discs or is it just the movies?

I was also wondering, I saw this box in conjunction with another set. The Walt Disney's 100 Years Of Magic. Apparently this collection contains 141 (!!) discs. I mean is that for real or just a hoax? I can't imagine this would be too good to be true.

So any feedback on these sets is highly appreciated.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It's good to know.

And what about the other one, the Early Works? This collection looks real, though.

The item you have pictured is Japanese and legit. It was released about 10 years ago, and uses the original movie posters as the covers and the cases are in the chest box as shown.
The 141 movie collection is a Chinese rip off, which is bootleg and as Milo has stated, avoid at all cost.

I don't own this collection, but almost bought it from Amazon Japan when it was first available. I think it has minimum special features, but it does look nice.

Welcome to the forum!

Another thing to look at is if the information is plausible and unfortunately a 100 year set still has a few years to go. Would be nice though. They could do something really special, like a chest, shelf or case. Number them out and a chest or a shelf could have carved out illustrations, not tacky, but meaningful. Would cost fortune too. Maybe they could sell shelf sections separately (eg. decade sections) and they connect together.

Otherwise, unfortunately I don't know anything either.

Thanks for these links. But it looks like some are not available anymore. But I see there are a few other collections
